Netflix is now casting actors for its upcoming live-action Scooby-Doo series, and fans are eager to see who will play their favorite characters. The show will focus on the beginning of the Mystery Inc. team and how they first met and started solving mysteries together.
Mckenna Grace, who starred in The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping and Regretting You, will play Daphne Blake. Tanner Hagen, known for his roles in The Pitt and Dark Light, has been cast as Shaggy Rogers. Abby Ryder Fortson, from Are You There God? It’s Me Margaret and Carousel, will play Velma Dinkley, and Maxwell Jenkins, who appeared in Lost in Space and The Bondsman, will be Fred Jones. And of course, Scooby-Doo, the gang’s beloved dog, will be joining them!
The story takes place during the summer before the gang leaves Camp Ruby-Spears. Shaggy and Daphne, longtime friends, become involved in a puzzling mystery: a missing Great Dane puppy who might have witnessed something unnatural – a possible murder.
The group tackles the mystery with the help of Velma, a clever local, and Freddy, a new student who’s both odd and likable. As they investigate, they’re drawn into a spooky adventure that might expose hidden secrets.

For more than 50 years, Scooby-Doo has been a beloved show, and now Netflix is building on that success. The streaming service has had great results bringing other popular series to life, like Wednesday, ONE PIECE, Stranger Things, and Bridgerton, all of which have become global hits.
Josh Appelbaum, Scott Rosenberg, Greg Berlanti, Sarah Schechter, Leigh London Redman, André Nemec, Jeff Pinkner, and Adrienne Erickson are executive producers on the series. Toby Haynes will direct the first episode and also serve as an executive producer.
Netflix hasn’t said when the live-action Scooby-Doo series will be released, but they promise to share more information soon.
