Netflix revealed its upcoming movie lineup for 2026 on Wednesday, sharing details like release dates, who’s starring in the films, and some early photos.
War Machine is a new sci-fi action film coming out on March 6th, starring Alan Ritchson. It follows a group of U.S. Army Rangers during what should be their last training exercise. However, the drill quickly becomes a real fight for survival when they encounter a surprising and dangerous enemy. Patrick Hughes directed, wrote, and produced the movie.
The movie Remarkably Bright Creatures is scheduled to come out on May 8th. Based on the bestselling book by Shelby Van Pelt, it tells the story of Tova, a widow who works at an aquarium and is portrayed by Sally Field.
Tova unexpectedly forms a close connection with Marcellus, a large octopus. Without Tova knowing, Marcellus is determined to uncover a secret that will help her overcome her grief and ultimately change her life. The movie is directed by Olivia Newman and features Lewis Pullman and Colm Meaney.
Netflix revealed that Tyler Perry’s new movie, Joe’s College Road Trip, will premiere on February 13th. Perry wrote, directed, produced, and stars in the film as Joe, who takes a young man named B.J. (played by Jermaine Harris) on a college road trip. While the trip has its challenges, both characters learn valuable life lessons. This movie is one of three projects Perry has planned with Netflix, but release dates for the other two haven’t been announced yet.
The streaming service announced some exciting news about its upcoming animated movie, Swapped. Comedians Tracy Morgan and Cedric the Entertainer have joined the voice cast. Morgan will play a character named Boogle, a fish. The movie follows a woodland creature (voiced by Michael B. Jordan) and a bird (voiced by Juno Temple) who are natural enemies but magically switch bodies. They then have to team up to survive!
Viewers got a sneak peek at the upcoming film, Enola Holmes 3, with Netflix sharing some first-look photos. The movie, starring Millie Bobby Brown, continues the detective adventures inspired by the novels of Nancy Springer. Netflix also revealed images from the new comedy Little Brother, featuring John Cena and Eric André.
