Netflix Renews One Piece for Season 3, Releases First Look at Season 2

Netflix has announced that the live-action One Piece series will continue with Season 3, and they offered a sneak peek of Season 2 during the yearly One Piece Day celebration held in Tokyo.

Season 3 Renewal

As a die-hard fan, I’m thrilled to announce that our beloved pirate crew – led by Luffy (Iñaki Godoy) – is setting sail once more! That’s right, we’re gearing up for a third season of our favorite series. The production team will be setting off later this year in sunny Cape Town, South Africa.

Joining the helm alongside Joe Tracz is Ian Stokes, who’ll take on co-showrunning, writing, and executive producing duties for Season 3. Can’t wait to see what adventures await us next!

Season 2 First Look

Netflix has given a sneak preview of Season 2, set to debut in 2026. The clip features the crew on board the Going Merry, embarking towards the Grand Line. As per the official summary, the Straw Hats will encounter tougher opponents and undertake their most dangerous missions yet while exploring peculiar islands and fighting new foes.

This coming season features the beloved character Tony Tony Chopper, who is portrayed by Mikaela Hoover. Chopper is a unique being, part reindeer and part human, combining intelligence and charisma in one captivating entity.

Series Background

According to the manga created by Eiichiro Oda, the storyline of One Piece revolves around Monkey D. Luffy’s journey to claim the title of Pirate King by locating Gold Roger’s fabled treasure. The Straw Hat pirate crew consists of swordsman Roronoa Zoro (Mackenyu), cartographer Nami (Emily Rudd), storyteller Usopp (Jacob Romero), and chef Sanji (Taz Skylar).

The live-action version of the show is developed by Tomorrow Studios and Netflix, overseen by a team of executive producers that includes Oda, Tracz, Matt Owens, Marty Adelstein, Becky Clements, Tetsu Fujimura, Chris Symes, Christoph Schrewe, and Steven Maeda.
