Netflix is introducing Sesame Street to a new audience. The streaming service just released a trailer for the show’s first season on Netflix, which is actually the 56th season of the beloved children’s program.
The new season will premiere in exactly one week. You can check out the trailer on YouTube.
Netflix’s new Sesame Street will be more fun and funny, with stories told in a more playful way. Instead of releasing episodes weekly, they’ll come out in groups of four, with three separate release dates. The first celebrity guest this season is NASCAR driver Bubba Wallace, who many grown-ups will recognize.

According to Sesame Street’s executive producer, Sal Perez, the show’s 56th season will be more immersive, drawing children directly into the stories. This season will feature engaging narratives, valuable learning opportunities, and plenty of humor. The curriculum will focus on kindness and compassion, important lessons for today’s children.
The show’s episodes will now be 30 minutes long, shorter than the previous hour-long format used before 2016. Halcyon Person, known for writing animated series like Karma’s World (2021) and Dee & Friends in Oz (2024) on Netflix, is the new head writer. This season will be available in over 30 languages.
Sesame Street debuted on November 10, 1969, and after 56 years, it’s now starting a new chapter on Netflix.
