As a cinephile eagerly looking forward to the next installment, I can’t help but share my excitement about “Troll 2” making its way onto Netflix! This upcoming film promises more heart-pounding action as we witness our hero wielding a fresh, formidable weapon against the towering Norwegian titan. The first movie, which garnered an astonishing 103 million views in 2021, has certainly paved the way for this sequel, making it a logical and highly anticipated move.
The narrative resumes as the Norwegian forces stand poised for combat against the colossal stone and earth titan. Once again, we find ourselves in the company of our principal characters from the previous film: the intrepid paleontology professor Nora, the shrewd political advisor Andreas Isaksen (portrayed by Kim Falck), and the resolute army major Kristoffer Holm (Mads Pettersen). They’re all gearing up for a thrilling showdown.
In this upcoming movie, Roar Uthaug takes the director’s chair for a second time. The screenplay is penned by Espen Aukan. Previous producers Espen Horn and Kristian Strand Sinkerud, who worked on Motion Blur, are also rejoining the team.
The upcoming film continues to draw inspiration from traditional Norwegian legends, as it was initially the construction of a railway that stirred the sleeping giant in the Dovre Mountains. This sequel is expected to deliver even more thrilling encounters.
The film titled “Troll 2” features Sara Khorami, Jon Ketil Johnsen, Gard B. Eidsvold, Kim S. Falck-Jorgensen, Aksel Almaas, and Trond Magnum in its cast. It is scheduled for release towards the end of this year, sharing the stage with other anticipated Netflix releases such as Guillermo del Toro’s “Frankenstein” and Noah Baumbach’s “Jay Kelly“, which are also set to debut in 2025.
