Netflix Pulls Plug On Mauricio Umansky’s Buying Beverly Hills; Show Will Not Return For Third Season

As a lifestyle expert with a keen eye for reality television trends, I must admit that I am slightly disheartened by Netflix’s decision to cancel Buying Beverly Hills. Having spent countless hours immersed in the world of luxury real estate and high-profile personalities, this series provided a unique perspective on the industry, one that was both captivating and relatable.

Netflix has decided not to renew its successful real estate series for a third season. As confirmed by Page Six, this decision comes only two months after the release of Season 2. Based on reports from Deadline, the reason behind the cancellation was the high cost of production compared to the number of viewers.

In 2022, an unrehearsed series was launched, featuring Umansky portraying Kyle Richards’ estranged spouse from The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. The show focused on him and his team at The Agency, which comprised his daughters Alexia and Farrah Brittany. In Season 2, Sophia, Mauricio’s third child, became a part of the family, carrying on her father’s business lineage.

The series also sheds light on the luxury real estate agent’s difficult relationship with his brother-in-law, Rick Hilton, and his problems with his divorced wife. Richards made multiple appearances in the Netflix series, and Umansky candidly talked about his marital difficulties on screen. The rift between Umansky and his brother was the catalyst for The Agency’s inception.

In the thrilling second chapter of this captivating series, I found myself utterly hooked as my beloved character’s daughter, Sophia, graced our screens. Her entrance marked a continuation of the business empire built by none other than my idol, Umansky, echoing the family drama depicted in Succession. The unstoppable trio of Umansky sisters—Farrah, Brittany, Alexia, and now Sophia—stood tall, bonded by sisterhood and determined to shield our cherished family company from intrusive investors like Michelle Schwartz. Each episode only intensified my fervor for this mesmerizing tale.

In a collaboration between Wheelhouse’s Spoke Studios and Just Entertainment, the TV show “Buying Beverly Hills” was created, with Brent Montgomery, Pam Healey, Will Nothacker, Justin W. Hochberg, Liz Fine, Adam Sher, Deanna Markoff, Ed Simpson, and Luke Neslage taking on executive producer roles.

You can watch season one and two of Buying Beverly Hills on Netflix. Netflix has similar shows like Selling Sunset, Selling the OC, and Owning Manhattan planned, despite the cancellation of Buying Beverly Hills.
