Netflix is expanding into video games you can play on your TV. Starting this holiday season, subscribers will have access to five new party games they can play directly on their televisions.
Netflix explains that playing games is easy: just select one from a new tab and connect your phone as a controller. They compare the setup to how simple it is to start watching a show.
The first set of games features both classic titles and fresh concepts. Players can enjoy Lego Party, a new game called Party Crashers: Fool Your Friends—which plays a bit like Among Us—and updated versions of Boggle and Pictionary.
Tetris Time Warp rounds out the selection, and it bears a resemblance to a small game found within last year’s Digital Eclipse Tetris Forever collection.
For a few years, Netflix has been testing the waters with mobile games. However, they recently announced that their main goal for 2025 and beyond is to offer cloud gaming – letting people play multiplayer games directly on their TVs.
Netflix hasn’t announced a specific date for when its first TV games will be available, but says they’re arriving shortly.
