Ella Beatty will star as Lizzie Borden in the upcoming film. Rebecca Hall will play Abby Borden, Lizzie’s stepmother, and Vicky Krieps will be Bridget Sullivan, the family maid. Charlie Hunnam is currently negotiating a role as Andrew Borden, Lizzie’s father. Billie Lourd and Jessica Barden will play Lizzie’s sister, Emma, and Nance O’Neil, respectively.

From what I understand about the making of this show, the creators really wanted to make sure we *feel* the weight of what happened – all the suspense and emotional impact of those historical events. They weren’t just after facts; they wanted to bring the drama to life.

The third season of the show, which centered around the story of Ed Gein, didn’t receive positive feedback when it launched on October 3rd. Many critics found it too violent and overly long, and pointed out several historical inaccuracies. Some viewers were also bothered by the side stories and the show’s attempts at self-awareness, although opinions varied on the lead actor’s performance.
