Netflix is reportedly considering buying Warner Bros. Discovery, which has DC Comics fans excited – particularly those who support Zack Snyder’s work.
As reported by Reuters, the streaming service has brought in the financial advisors who recently worked on the Paramount-Skydance agreement. They’ve also been given access to financial information to help them consider making an offer.
Netflix is strongly considering acquiring Warner Bros.’s studio and streaming properties, which also encompasses DC Comics content.

SnyderVerse Energy Is Surging Again
The timing couldn’t be more interesting.
For the past few weeks, Zack Snyder has been sharing photos from behind the scenes featuring Henry Cavill as Superman, Ben Affleck as Batman, and Joe Manganiello as Deathstroke. These nostalgic glimpses have really caught the attention of fans.
For months, people have said that everyone – even Zack Snyder himself – has accepted the end of the SnyderVerse. The idea was that Zack would only consider returning to direct a film based on The Dark Knight Returns in the future.
Okay, so things are getting really interesting! Zack Snyder’s been hinting at his old DC plans just as Netflix is reportedly looking at what Warner Bros. Discovery is up to. It’s got me thinking – does he have inside information that the rest of us don’t? It feels like there’s more to this than meets the eye, and I’m definitely curious to see where it goes.

Netflix + Snyder = Possibility?
Zack Snyder has been working at Netflix for several years, developing significant projects and establishing a strong rapport with the company. If Netflix were to acquire DC, Snyder would be readily available and already integrated within the organization as the DC universe begins a new chapter.
While a return to the SnyderVerse isn’t likely – and many involved have moved on – the recent events are hard to overlook.
If Netflix bought DC, it would immediately unlock a lot more creative possibilities. And at its most exciting, it could even lead to Zack Snyder directing a sequel to The Dark Knight Returns featuring older versions of Batman and Superman.

What about James Gunn’s DCU?
The entertainment industry is changing rapidly. Warner Bros. Discovery may be up for sale, and Netflix is reportedly interested in acquiring it. James Gunn is sharing DC-related content, which is exciting fans and creating a feeling that things are moving forward.
Perhaps it’s simply fondness for the past, or maybe Snyder’s recent photos suggest he’s aiming for a larger opportunity.
Either way, DC feels electric again.
James Gunn’s plans for the DC Universe are currently up in the air because the future owner of Warner Bros. Discovery (WBD) might want to start fresh, possibly with Mike De Luca leading the charge. Previously, the idea was to build on the existing DC films, often called the SnyderVerse, after the release of The Flash.
