Netflix has ended its deal with Meghan Markle’s lifestyle brand, Archetypes, according to Page Six. This follows the cancellation of her Netflix series, “Harry & Meghan,” after just one season.
According to an insider, the collaboration ended because the artist’s show was canceled, making it impractical to continue.
According to a Netflix representative, Meghan Markle’s desire to find beauty in simple, everyday things led to the creation of her lifestyle brand, As Ever, and Netflix was happy to help make that happen.
Netflix has confirmed that Meghan Markle will now move forward with her ‘Archetypes’ podcast and other projects on her own. According to Netflix, this was always the plan, and they are excited to see how she continues to entertain and connect with people globally.
A spokesperson for As Ever told Page Six that the company is prepared to operate independently. They stated that As Ever has grown quickly and is now ready to move forward on its own, with many exciting plans for the year ahead.
In 2020, Meghan Markle, now 44, and Prince Harry made a $100 million agreement with Netflix after deciding to step away from their roles as senior royals. While their 2023 documentary, “Harry & Meghan,” proved popular with viewers, other projects like “Polo” and “With Love, Meghan” didn’t perform as well. Page Six has reported that “With Love, Meghan” won’t be renewed for another season.
The couple renewed their Netflix contract last year, agreeing to a smaller payment, and were working on adaptations of two popular books: Carley Fortune’s “Meet Me at the Lake” and Jasmine Guillory’s “The Wedding Date.” While Netflix reportedly spent around $3 million on “Meet Me at the Lake,” both projects are now stalled, according to sources at Page Six. One Hollywood insider explained that a movie taking three years to develop at Netflix is a bad sign.
The documentary “Cookie Queens,” made by Meghan Markle and Prince Harry, debuted at the Sundance Film Festival in January but still hasn’t found a company to distribute it.
As a big fan of Meghan Markle, I was a little surprised to hear things haven’t been smooth sailing for her lifestyle brand, As Ever. Apparently, sales haven’t been what they hoped for since it launched in April 2025. Page Six reported that Netflix’s LA offices were actually filled with unsold products – everything from her jam and candles to wine and even flower petal sprinkles! It’s a bit disappointing to hear, honestly.
This decision marks a significant change for Meghan Markle and her brand, giving her complete control over its direction.
