Previously priced at $15.49 per month, Netflix’s Standard Plan without Ads will now set you back $17.99 monthly – a significant jump in cost by $2.50. This is their most popular plan; let’s wait and see how this price increase affects it.

Other Cost Increases Hitting Netflix in 2025

Besides the rise in subscription prices, the cost for adding additional members to a Netflix plan without ads will also increase from $7.99 per month to $8.99. On the other hand, the price for adding an extra member to the ad-supported Netflix plan stays the same at $6.99.

For those intrigued, the only ad-supported plan on Netflix right now is the Standard with Ads option. On the other hand, both the Standard without Ads plan and the Premium Plan from Netflix are ad-free. However, these tiers vary not just in the number of supported devices but also in the number of additional members you can add to your account as part of Netflix’s password-sharing policy adjustment.

The Price Increases Start Coming, and They Don’t Stop Coming

Starting from January 21st, new customers can expect an increase in prices. Current customers will notice these adjustments in their upcoming bills. The price rise applies to users of Netflix in the United States, Canada, Portugal, and Argentina.

Each year, I find myself paying a bit more for Netflix’s continuous investment in quality content and enhancing the member experience. As much as I appreciate their efforts to improve, it seems advertisements are becoming increasingly invasive and shows are being canceled at an alarming rate. Here’s hoping that the price increase we’re experiencing now is a one-time thing for 2025.
