The neighbor involved in the recent incident with actor Alan Ritchson has admitted he started the physical fight. Ronnie Taylor, who lives in a Nashville suburb, said he pushed Ritchson twice before the actor responded with force.
The confrontation happened on Sunday, March 22nd, and stemmed from a two-day disagreement about Ritchson riding his motorcycle quickly through the neighborhood. Taylor explained to reporters that the issue began on Saturday when he repeatedly heard a loud motorcycle engine.
“I eventually saw the rider on Saturday, and I didn’t recognize him. I casually asked him from a distance to please slow down,” Taylor told TMZ.
Okay, so I just heard this crazy story! Apparently, Alan Ritchson – you know, the star of ‘Reacher’? – was in a fight that was caught on video, and now the other guy is finally explaining what actually happened and how it all started. It’s wild!

Taylor said several neighbors had also recorded the speeding on their doorbell cameras. Things came to a head the next day when Taylor saw the actor riding by again, this time with two children on their own motorbikes. Taylor went outside to confront him, and a heated argument quickly followed. “I pushed him because he was riding towards me. He did it a second time, so I pushed him again. I think that’s when he got off his bike and started attacking me,” Taylor explained.
Video footage of the altercation shows Ritchson repeatedly hitting Taylor, who later stated the actor struck him at least four times, even while he was down. Although Taylor was bruised and swollen, he said he didn’t harbor any lasting resentment, but believed someone needed to speak up about neighborhood safety. He explained, “I don’t want anything bad to happen to this guy, but people shouldn’t be driving through neighborhoods like that. I decided to say something because someone had to.”
Police are investigating an incident involving Alan Ritchson, but no arrests have been made as of late March. Taylor, one of those involved, has shared his version of events, but sources close to Ritchson claim he was acting in self-defense after being aggressively confronted.
A video of the incident has gone viral, sparking online debate about whether Ritchson’s reaction was justified. Despite the controversy, Ritchson is currently experiencing a career high, starring in the new Netflix sci-fi action film War Machine, which premiered on March 6th. The film, about an elite Army Ranger team facing an alien threat, has quickly become popular with both viewers and critics, who praise it as a thrilling and entertaining action movie.
Those who enjoy Alan Ritchson as Jack Reacher have even more to look forward to. Season three of Reacher came out in early 2025, and season four finished filming in late 2025, with a premiere on Prime Video expected later this year.
A spin-off series centered around Frances Neagley, played by Maria Sten, is also in the works and will be released before season four of Reacher.
Despite a demanding filming schedule and other big projects, Ritchson remains a popular action star, even while dealing with recent personal issues.
