As a die-hard fan of Law & Order, I am beyond thrilled to hear about the return of familiar faces to this iconic series! Having grown up watching this show and its spin-offs, it feels like coming home when I see Mariska Hargitay, Elizabeth Marvel, and now Ryan Eggold join the cast.
The well-known and beloved series, NBC’s Law & Order, is preparing to welcome back a familiar figure. After spending five seasons on NBC’s New Amsterdam, Ryan Eggold will rejoin the network for a guest appearance on Law & Order. Additionally, actress Mariska Hargitay, who stars in Law & Order: SVU, and Elizabeth Marvel, who previously worked on SVU, are also set to take on guest roles.
In this upcoming appearance, Mariska Hargitay will portray Captain Olivia Benson from SVU, while also reprising her role as Defense Attorney Rita Calhoun in Marvel. This special episode is scheduled to air in October, featuring a joint appearance by these two distinguished stars.
In the upcoming 24th season, ER alumna Maura Tierney will take on the role as a regular cast member, filling in after the departure of Camryn Manheim.
Coming to Ryan Eggold, the actor was last seen as the lead of NBC’s series New Amsterdam for its five-season run, and before that starred in NBC’s The Blacklist franchise.
In addition to my upcoming appearances on Cross for Amazon, a platform I’m thrilled to be part of given its association with the captivating James Patterson book series, you might also recognize me from several critically acclaimed films. These include Tyler Perry’s A Jazzman’s Blues, Never, Rarely, Sometimes, Always, and Spike Lee’s BlacKkKlansman – a testament to the diverse range of roles I’ve had the privilege to portray.
To conclude, Elizabeth Marvel portrayed Calhoun in a total of 15 episodes of SVU from 2010 to 2021. More recently, she appeared on Apple TV+’s Presumed Innocent, where she played Lorraine Horgan, the spouse of ex-District Attorney Raymond Horgan.
Even though it had been off the air for more than ten years, the original series Law & Order was reintroduced in 2022 and has since gained popularity, moving forward with Season 24. Originally created by Dick Wolf and premiering in 1990, Law & Order follows detectives in New York City as they investigate various crimes and assist the District Attorney in constructing a robust case.
