Alright, settle in, folks! You won’t believe this. The Nasdaq Composite – yes, that Nasdaq, the one that makes or breaks fortunes faster than you can say “margin call” – officially declared itself a bull market back on April 8th, 2025. A bull market! It’s like a ticker tape parade, only with less confetti and more anxiety. And since then? It’s been climbing. A modest 54%, they say. Modest! It’s practically a vertical ascent! But here’s the kicker: history suggests this is just the opening act. Since 1990, whenever the Nasdaq throws a party like this, it tends to go a little crazy for the next two years. We’re talking an average of 98% gain. Ninety-eight percent! I’m starting to think I should have invested in those Beanie Babies after all.
So, let’s do some math, shall we? On April 8th, 2025, the Nasdaq was chilling at 15,268. If history repeats itself – and let’s be honest, it rarely does, but let’s pretend it does for dramatic effect – we’re looking at a glorious 30,231 by April 8th, 2027. A number so big, it requires its own zip code. Now, past performance isn’t a guarantee, of course. That’s what lawyers are for. But two stocks, my friends, two stocks are poised to take advantage of this madness: Meta Platforms and Robinhood Markets. Don’t tell anyone I told you.
- Meta, that social media behemoth, has a median target price of $820 per share, according to 72 analysts. That’s a potential 25% upside from its current price of $658. 25%! It’s practically free money! (Disclaimer: it is not free money.)
- And then there’s Robinhood, the platform for the young and reckless. 28 analysts see it hitting $155 per share, a whopping 45% jump from its current $107. 45%! I’m starting to think I should have learned to trade options…
Let’s delve into these contenders, shall we? Prepare for revelations!
Meta Platforms: 25% Upside – Or Is It?
Meta, formerly Facebook, owns three of the four most popular social media networks. Facebook, Instagram, Messenger, WhatsApp – they collectively reach 3.5 billion people daily. That’s more people than have seen my stand-up routine. This creates a network effect – creators follow users, users follow creators, advertisers follow both. It’s a beautiful, terrifying cycle. It’s made Meta the second-largest adtech company. Second largest! They’re aiming for world domination, one targeted ad at a time.
Malik Ahmed Khan at Morningstar recently declared Meta a “digital advertising juggernaut.” A juggernaut! I haven’t heard that word since… well, since the last time I watched a classic monster movie. His conviction stems from their success with artificial intelligence. Their content recommendation systems are so good, they’re practically mind control. Okay, maybe not mind control, but they’re getting awfully close. It’s improved user engagement and ad conversion rates. Demand is up, profits are up, and my blood pressure is slightly up.
In the third quarter, ad impressions increased 14%, and the average price per ad jumped 10%. Good news, right? Well, the stock took a hit after the report because management announced bigger capital expenditures in 2026. “Notably larger,” they said. “Notably larger!” It’s like saying, “We’re going to spend a lot more money!” But this is a buying opportunity, folks. Their investments in AI are paying off, and their plan to fully automate ad creation and targeting should strengthen demand. Plus, the stock trades at 29 times earnings, which is reasonable for a company whose earnings are forecast to grow at 18% annually. Reasonable! It’s practically a bargain.
Robinhood Markets: 45% Upside – Or Are We All Doomed?
Robinhood operates a trading platform geared toward young investors. Millennials and Gen Z are their bread and butter. They have nearly twice the number of accounts from those generations as the next closest competitor. They’re well-positioned to benefit from the greatest wealth transfer in history. Apparently, baby boomers are about to pass along $124 trillion in assets. $124 trillion! I could really use a small fraction of that.
Robinhood is still a minor player in the brokerage market, but they’re gaining share across multiple categories: cryptocurrency, equities, margin, options. They’ve also become a major player in prediction markets, letting users bet on real-world events. Betting on real-world events! It’s like a dystopian future… but with more dopamine.
Argus Research analyst Stephen Biggar writes that the company has a “long ramp to gain market share.” A long ramp! It’s like a never-ending roller coaster ride. Funded customers, platform assets, and net deposits have grown rapidly. They’re introducing new products at a blistering pace. It’s a whirlwind of innovation… or a recipe for disaster. We’ll see.
Importantly, Robinhood introduced an AI-powered investing assistant called Cortex in March 2025. It’s exclusively for Gold subscribers. It lets investors use natural language to make trades, conduct research, and adjust settings. “The goal is to put an AI-powered research assistant in your pocket,” according to management. An AI-powered research assistant! It’s like having a financial guru in your pocket… who might also be plotting your demise.
Wall Street expects Robinhood’s earnings to increase at 22% annually over the next three years. That makes the current valuation of 44 times earnings look reasonable. Reasonable! It’s practically highway robbery. Investors with a time horizon of at least five years should consider buying a position in this fintech stock today. Just don’t blame me if it all goes south.
