Myrkur reveals Echoes of the End for PC, PS5, and Xbox

Myrkur Games in collaboration with Deep Silver has confirmed that their first game, titled “Echoes of the End“, is set to launch on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S this coming summer season.

Since 2021, the dedicated Icelandic game creator is diligently developing a game that intends to convey a narrative encompassing themes of trust, sacrifice, and atonement within a captivating single-player fantasy saga.

In Echoes of the End, players embark on a journey alongside Ryn, who possesses potent yet unstable magical powers. Her mission is to save her brother from the clutches of a cruel empire. Along the way, she joins forces with Abram Finlay, a tormented scholar, and together they expose a plot that could reignite an age-old conflict and thrust the entire world of Aema into a catastrophic war.

The game runs on Unreal Engine 5 and employs advanced motion capture technology to animate its characters realistically. Notable actors in the cast include Aldís Hjalmtýr Hamilton (Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2), who lends her voice to the main character Ryn, and Karl Ágúst Úlfsson, who portrays Abram.

In the game, combatants will face off against both human and monster adversaries, combining swift melee combat with magical prowess. Meanwhile, Ryn’s talents prove useful beyond conflict, enabling puzzle-solving and overcoming hurdles; she has control over time and gravity for her advantage.

The music by composer Viktor Ingi Guðmundsson enhances both the storyline and the action, providing a fitting finale to a game heavily influenced by Icelandic elements.
