My Hero Academia You’re Next Trailer Breakdown; Synopsis, Plot & More To Know

As a long-time admirer of anime and manga, I must say that my excitement for the upcoming release of “My Hero Academia: You’re Next” is through the roof! Having followed the series since its early days, it’s fascinating to see how far Deku, Izuku Midoriya, has come.

Toho International recently unveiled the latest preview for My Hero Academia: Your Turn, the last movie produced during the original comic’s run. This film is part of the series and will hit North American screens in October. It’s the fourth feature film in the franchise. In the United States and Canada, Toho International plans to distribute the movie on October 11, 2024. Prior to its release in North America, the movie will premiere in Japan on August 2nd.

As a devoted follower, I eagerly anticipate the upcoming film that Toho Animation has hinted at: “‘It’s your turn now!’ In a world where heroes and villains clash for peace and disorder, I, a student at U.A. High School, strive to become the best hero I can be. Facing off against a villain who mimics my idolized hero, I must rise to the challenge. Can Deku and our esteemed classmates of Class 1-A at U.A. High School prevent global catastrophe by defeating Dark Might, the self-proclaimed new Symbol of Peace?”

“My Hero Academia: Your Turn Next,” directed by Tensai Okamura from studio Bones, will see Kohei Horikoshi taking the roles of supervisor and character designer. Yosuke Kuroda is responsible for scriptwriting, Yoshihiko Umakoshi contributes to character designs, while Yuki Hayashi handles the music composition. The film introduces new characters alongside a star-studded cast including Kenta Miyake as Dark Might, Meru Nukumi as Anna Scervino, Mamoru Miyano as Giulio Gandini, Ken Uo as Hugo, Yuki Ono as Kamil, Minako Kotobuki as Deborah, Yusuke Kobayashi as Paulo, Michitake Kikuchi as Simon, and Masaki Terasoma as Bruno.

The premiere of the movie “My Hero Academia: You’re Next” is scheduled to release a few days before the conclusion of the manga series on August 5th. In anticipation of its ending, VIZ had an interview with the manga creator Kohei Horikoshi, who was surprisingly modest given the success his work has enjoyed overseas. Recently, “My Hero Academia” became the latest manga to surpass 100 million copies in circulation globally, achieving this milestone in April. It consistently ranks as a top seller in America and once again made The New York Times’ list for Graphic Books and Manga in July 2024 with its 38th English-language volume.

In a recent chat with Japanese magazine More, main voice actors Daiki Yamashita (Izuku Midoriya), Nobuhiko Okamoto (Katsuki Bakugo), and Sakura Ayane (Ochako Uraraka) shared their thoughts on the most intriguing aspects of the movie. Okamoto and Yamashita mentioned that one of the standout moments in the film was Deku’s latest smash, where he references multiple American states.

In a unique move reminiscent of his heroic role model, Izuku shouts out various U.S. state names as he delivers All Might’s signature move, the United States of Smash, against All For One. This attack not only showcases his distinctive style but also honors his idol, as it successfully seizes all power from OFA’s embers with a single powerful punch.

In the thrilling adventure of My Hero Academia: World Heroes Mission, I found myself unleashing my ultimate move – the United World of Smash! It’s an exhilarating combination of quick-fire punches and a powerful 100% kick, all while wearing Full Cowl. This version of All Might’s United States of Smash echoes his epic battle in USJ, where the symbol of peace utilized a barrage of punches to outmaneuver the Nomu’s extraordinary shock absorption ability.

In the third film, Deku hadn’t managed to withstand the full force of One For All. Since the upcoming movie takes place between the Dark Hero Arc and the start of the Final War, it implies that Deku has already mastered the abilities of One For All. Now, he can employ Fa Jin to amplify his power, fully activate One For All at 100% without experiencing recoil. This suggests that Deku’s new smash will be his most powerful attack so far in the upcoming movie.
