The final season of My Hero Academia, Season 8, will air this Fall 2025, as announced in the trailer shown at AnimeJapan 2025. With the series coming to an end, fans are eagerly awaiting the resolution to the conflict between Deku and his fellow Pro Heroes against the League of Villains for good. Keep reading for more details.
In the recently unveiled sneak peek (located beneath), we get a tantalizing look at the epic battles that are yet to come. The majority of the material showcases Izuku Midoriya (Deku) and his adversary, Tomura Shigaraki, highlighting the ultimate confrontation between the heroes and the villains.
The main image, revealed together with the teaser, shows Deku and Shigaraki locked in a tense confrontation. Moreover, the trailer confirms that My Hero Academia Season 8 will be airing in October 2025.
Without specifying an exact release date, it’s been announced that fresh episodes will air every week in Japan and can be streamed internationally on Crunchyroll. The airing time is planned to be 1:30 am Pacific Time each week, following the broadcast schedule pattern of earlier seasons.
In the upcoming season of My Hero Academia (in 2024), we welcome back Naomi Nakayama as the director, having previously taken the helm for Season 7. Yosuke Kuroda, who has been an integral part of the series since its inception, will once again be responsible for the series composition.
In the upcoming season, Studio Bones maintains control over the animation, with Kenji Nagasaki serving as the chief director, and both Yoshihiko Umakoshi and Hitomi Odashima lending their talents to the character design. Furthermore, Yuki Hayashi, who has previously worked on Haikyu!!, will continue to compose the series, aiming to create a soundtrack that accentuates the dramatic storyline.
Season 8 of My Hero Academia is anticipated to conclude the story based on the last few chapters of the manga, specifically the Final War Arc and Epilogue Arc from chapters 398 to 431. Since there are still 32 manga chapters and a lengthy 38-page epilogue left to adapt, it’s unclear how long Season 8 will be.
If significant original content isn’t added, the new season might be less lengthy compared to its predecessors. Moreover, a special exhibit focused on My Hero Academia is scheduled at the Tokyo Creative Museum from June 21 to August 31, 2025.
Enthusiasts will be thrilled to know that a new spin-off anime of My Hero Academia: Vigilantes is set to debut on April 7, 2025. This exciting addition provides additional stories within the MHA universe, offering something for fans to enjoy before the final season arrives.
