My Hero Academia Marks 10 Years with Surprise Bonus Episode – Release Date Announced

I’m so excited! My Hero Academia is turning ten, and they just announced a special celebration at Jump Festa 2026! They’re releasing a brand-new extra episode on May 2nd, 2026, and I can’t wait to see it!

Titled “More,” this special episode is based on chapter 431 of the My Hero Academia manga. It serves as a finale, set eight years after the main events, and shows what Deku and his classmates are doing as grown-up heroes. You’ll be able to watch it on Crunchyroll.

In addition to a special extra episode, fans also received a celebratory illustration from character designer Yoshihiko Umakoshi and news of a global concert tour. The My Hero Academia in Concert tour will feature live performances of Yuki Hayashi’s music synchronized with scenes from the anime.

I’m so excited – it all kicks off at Pacifico Yokohama in Japan on May 30th! After that, it’s heading to other countries, but they haven’t said exactly where or when yet. I’m definitely keeping an eye out for those announcements!

The final season of the anime was directed by Naomi Nakayama, with Kenji Nagasaki serving as chief director. The animation was produced by Studio Bones. Yosuke Kuroda wrote the series’ composition, Yoshihiko Umakoshi designed the characters, and Yuki Hayashi composed the music. The original manga is by Kohei Horikoshi. My Hero Academia centers around Izuku Midoriya, a boy who lives in a world where almost everyone is born with unique superpowers, called “quirks.” Izuku is different – he’s born without any powers at all. However, he’s determined to become a hero, and eventually gets accepted into a prestigious hero academy.

The 10th anniversary will feature extra events both in Japan and internationally, creating a memorable experience for fans.
