My Hero Academia Ending: Is There Scope of a New Story? Explored

As a lifestyle expert with a penchant for manga and anime, I’ve been following the journey of Kōhei Horikoshi’s My Hero Academia since its inception. The finale, after a decade-long wait, has finally wrapped up the story, but it feels more like the end of an era than the end of a series.

Following nearly ten years, Kōhei Horikoshi’s manga series, “My Hero Academia,” has concluded its run. The final chapter saw a return to the beginning, as All Might reappeared significantly in Deku’s (Izuku Midoriya) life once more. Initially, it seemed like Chapter 430 might take an unexpected turn, hinting at Deku possibly giving up his hero career, but does the story truly end there?

In Chapter 430, there’s a leap of eight years, taking us to a time when the students from Class 1-A are now in their mid-twenties. Deku has taken up a teaching position at U.A High School, but due to everyone becoming well-known heroes, he finds it hard to spend time with his old friends. The world is currently undergoing changes led by Ochaco Uraraka, as people are gradually learning to rely less on heroes for their needs.

In what seemed to be the final chapter for Deku as a hero, suddenly All Might appeared, presenting him with a state-of-the-art mechanical suit. All Might emphasized that Deku, despite appearances, was indeed a true hero who deserved this suit. Once more, All Might stepped up to the plate and offered Quirkless Deku another opportunity to live his dream as a hero.

With his latest superhero outfit, Deku’s storyline is full of possibilities moving forward. Given the immense success of the series, it wouldn’t be unexpected if we saw a spin-off manga or perhaps even a follow-up story. A fresh take on the saga could focus on a new generation of heroes, with one of Deku’s students from U.A. High School stepping into the limelight as the main character.

An ongoing storyline exploring the happenings throughout the eight-year time leap could be developed. This segment promises intrigue as it delves into post-war reconstruction, evolutions in law, politics, and more. Additionally, a captivating concept is the creation of tales set in alternate universes, showcasing divergent outcomes compared to the primary narrative.

A fresh concept centered around investigating hero societies across various nations could serve as an excellent base for a sequel TV show. It would be intriguing to imagine an educational exchange between these international schools and U.A High School. Additionally, a series concentrating on the current lives of heroes such as Shoto Todoroki and Bakugo Katsuki holds great promise.

Regardless of whether we will see the return of My Hero Academia, it lies in the hands of Kōhei Horikoshi. With Deku in a new suit, it’s only a matter of when and not if we will ever get to see some of our favorite heroes (and villains) again. Stay tuned for the latest news on My Hero Academia!
