‘My Heart Is So Full’: Lindsay Lohan Shares Production Update On Freakier Friday

As a lifestyle expert with a rich background in film and pop culture, I must say that the upcoming sequel of “Freakier Friday” truly resonates with me, having grown up watching the original 2003 Disney classic. The fact that Lindsay Lohan and Jamie Lee Curtis are reprising their iconic roles is a testament to the enduring power of these stories.

As a lifestyle enthusiast, I’m thrilled to share that the long-awaited follow-up to the beloved 2003 Disney film “Freaky Friday,” titled “Freakier Friday,” is almost ready to grace our movie screens! The original stars, Lindsay Lohan and Jamie Lee Curtis, have completed their filming for this exciting sequel.

20 years back, they acted in a movie named Anna and Tess. As the film was nearing its 2025 release, Lindsay Lohan found herself getting emotional during the last stages of production. On August 19, she commemorated her final day on the Freaky Friday set with an affectionate Instagram post.

“Enjoy your Monday! Today marks our final #freakierfriday on set, and my heart is overflowing. This filmmaking journey has been fantastic, and I owe it all to the exceptional cast, crew, and Disney Studios team who have poured their time and affection into this project. A big thank you to everyone!” she posted with a selfie.

Lohan went on expressing gratitude towards the entire cast, crew, and Disney Studios team. She expressed her honor in being involved with this movie, which she considered a “tale about family, mothers, and their children, brimming with love, laughter, and an abundance of emotion.” In particular, regarding her on-screen mother Curtis, she noted that it was delightful to collaborate with her cherished friend Jamie Lee Curtis, who infused the set with constant joy and made the experience even more memorable.

Just couldn’t contain my excitement after wrapping up on our mind-blowing Freakier Friday set last Friday (August 16)! I mean, who wouldn’t be over the moon after being part of something as extraordinary as this? I penned down, “The final FRIDAY of this most FREAKIEST FRIDAY or should I say CRYDAY?” Though there were a couple of days left next week, it already feels like we’re wrapping things up. As I pulled into the work lot this morning and saw hundreds of fans gathering together in California to share in our movie magic, my heart swelled with gratitude and anticipation.

In addition, she conveyed her thanks towards her “most exceptional” screen daughter Lohan, stating, “Lindsay Lohan, without whom we wouldn’t have been able to create this movie at all. She generously presented me with a Suzie Kondi shirt after I admired hers, and I wore it today as a tribute to her.” To conclude, Curtis ended her heartfelt message with: “Now off to wig and set. Thank you for the abundance of LOVE! It was truly unforgettable!”

At Disney’s D23 Expo last week, the title of the sequel was officially unveiled and it was announced that it will hit theaters. In the upcoming sequel, Anna has a daughter now and is about to gain a stepdaughter. The duo may find themselves switching bodies again as they strive to overcome challenges. The film titled “Freaky Friday” is scheduled for release in theaters in 2025.

In addition to Lohan and Curtis, the cast consists of Mark Harmon portraying Ryan, Chad Michael Murray as Jake, Christina Vidal Mitchell playing Maddie, Haley Hudson as Peg, Lucille Soong as Pei-Pei’s mother, Stephen Tobolowsky as Mr. Elton Bates, and Rosalind Chao as Pei-Pei. New additions to the cast include Manny Jacinto as Anna’s spouse, as well as Julia Butters, Sophia Hammons, and Maitreyi Ramakrishnan who are yet to reveal their roles.
