The actor expressed his view on the Oscars by stating, “I think the Oscars are completely irrelevant as they only evaluate a portion of an actor’s work during a specific time period from Thanksgiving to Christmas, not their entire year’s performance.
He also mentioned, “In my opinion, those prizes seem questionable indeed, as there are many excellent works happening beyond the timeframe they label as ‘Oscar season’.
In the movie business, the leading actor aimed at the distributors known for scheduling their film releases over holidays, since it’s when awards committees select the films to be considered for the competition.
Contrasting with what the actor claimed, it was actually Oppenheimer and Everything, Everywhere All At Once that garnered the most awards during their respective release years. Interestingly, these two productions premiered in July and April.
