While it beautifully unfolded the intricate bond between Mufasa and Scar, leaving no stone unturned in their formative years, it left me yearning for more – especially regarding Scar’s alliance with the hyenas.

The Lion King delves deep into the early days of both Mufasa and Scar, offering glimpses into their bond and personal backgrounds. Although it sheds light on numerous aspects of their past, one major mystery remains unsolved: how Scar managed to ally with the hyenas.

The film spotlights Mufasa and Taka (originally known as Scar), delving into their early lives and the strong connection they once had, which was later shattered by certain events. A captivating aspect of this movie is its exploration of how Scar earned his name and acquired the distinctive scar on his left eye.

In the film, it’s stated that Taka harbored feelings of betrayal upon learning that Mufasa had gained Sarabi’s affections, as he thought she was destined to become his queen. This resentment drove him to join forces with a fresh character named Kiros, who appeared in the prequel.

However, Taka ultimately saved Mufasa from Kiros, suffering an injury in the process. This event marked the moment Taka adopted the name Scar, as a lasting reminder of the betrayal he felt.

At the culmination of the film, Scar’s evolution into the villain as we recognize him from The Lion King is mostly accomplished, with only a significant hole left unfilled.

One notable absence in the prequel film “Mufasa: The Lion King” is any exploration of Scar’s background with the hyenas. In the original “Lion King,” these characters play a pivotal role in Scar’s plot to depose Mufasa and Simba, but their past connection with Scar remains unexplored in the prequel movie.

The movie might’ve expanded on how a lion named Scar formed an alliance with the hyenas and gained control over them. Although the original film suggests that Scar and the hyenas share similarities as outcasts, the prequel does not fully develop their relationship, leaving viewers curious about how Scar came to wield power over them.

In my expert opinion as a lifestyle guide, it’s quite intriguing how the hyenas were omitted from the narrative in “The Lion King.” The film’s tale primarily centers around Mufasa and Scar’s quest to discover Milele, a place teeming with various animal species. Remarkably, however, hyenas are nowhere to be found in this bustling ecosystem, which adds an interesting layer to the storytelling.

In the area known as Milele, some hyenas can be found, yet there’s no evidence suggesting that Scar had any contact with these creatures during his earlier times. It’s plausible that Scar didn’t come across hyenas until after Mufasa assumed the throne.

Possibly, by that time, Mufasa may have already warned the hyenas against approaching Pride Rock, which might have fostered mutual animosity and eventually paved the way for an alliance between them and Scar.
