As a long-time follower of the music scene and someone who has witnessed countless award ceremonies, I must say that the 2024 MTV Video Music Awards is always a highlight of my year. However, this year’s event at the UBS Arena in New York feels particularly special.

At present, the 2024 MTV Video Music Awards are taking place at the UBS Arena in New York City. Often referred to simply as the VMAs, this annual event celebrates musicians for their outstanding work throughout the year. It’s no surprise that Taylor Swift, who is a singer under the TTPD label, has been making waves with 12 nominations and has already won the Best Collaboration award for her collaboration with Post Malone on Fortnite.

Before acknowledging her collaborator on her successful song, Ms. Swift, from the VMAs stage, recalled the victims of 9/11, reflecting on the events that occurred 23 years ago. She shared that her thoughts and prayers were with everyone who lost a loved one during those tragic times as she accepted one of several Moonmen awards that evening.

In her gratitude for those who assisted on the Fortnight video, Swift specifically praised her collaborator, stating, “There’s a very good reason why Post Malone is everyone’s preferred partner in music collaborations.” She went on to explain that he possesses an extraordinary talent, offers versatility across various genres, and maintains a humble, down-to-earth demeanor.

Swift then joked that it took her quite some time to get him to stop addressing her as “ma’am.”

Besides receiving the award for Best Collaboration, the duo additionally won the highly desired Song of the Summer accolade as well.

At this year’s VMAs, Taylor Swift takes the lead with a total of 12 nominations, including Artist of the Year.
