Summary
- Bosses in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 are not differentiated by combat difficulty but by narrative importance.
- Some boss encounters are easy, like Istvan Toth, while others, like Zizka, present a challenge.
- Strategy in boss fights involves exploiting weaknesses and making tactical choices for optimal play.
In Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, the boss battles deviate from conventional methods. Instead of being distinctly unique, they resemble regular one-on-one conflicts, and frequently, tactics used against common foes can also be applied to defeat these bosses.
In contrast, the influential figures in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 maintain their authority due to their significance within the storyline and the gravity of the battles at stake. Although some of these interactions in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 may be relatively easy, others present a formidable challenge. However, who among them offers the most difficult challenge?

Istvan Toth
Long Time Coming

In the continuation of the game, Kingdom Come: Deliverance, Henry’s long-standing animosity towards Istvan Toth from the previous game finds its resolution. Although the initial game didn’t offer a direct confrontation with Toth, the sequel provides an opportunity for Henry to settle scores and retrieve his father’s sword in his quest for revenge.
The approach to fighting Istvan Toth is filled with tension, and the pre-fight cutscene showcases some outstanding acting. However, it should be noted that the battle itself isn’t particularly difficult. Instead, the real challenge lies in navigating the confined space of the room. Despite his reputation, Toth isn’t a skilled fighter and can be easily defeated. If you prefer, you can bypass the fight entirely and assassinate him before engaging in any combat, though this method may be seen as dishonourable.

Christopher
Sibling Rivalry

In the majority of Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, you’ll find yourself guiding Henry’s actions. However, there are certain missions where you’ll take charge of Godwin, a courier who was assigned to check on Henry and Hans Capon. Due to unforeseen circumstances, he becomes deeply involved in the intricate web of the plot’s events.
At a gathering of Wenceslas backers, where Godwin is tasked with managing connections and potentially forging alliances, he unexpectedly finds himself embroiled in a hostile exchange with his half-brother Christopher. This altercation escalates to a duel. Managing Godwin instead of Henry might require some adjustment, but he’s not hard to control. Moreover, Christopher underestimates Godwin’s age and experience, making it easier for the priest to emerge victorious in their encounter.
6.
Hans Capon
Tough Training

In my enthusiasm for Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, I wasn’t anticipating a tough start, but the intricate nature of its combat system caught me off guard during my initial sparring match against Hans Capon in the prologue. If you’re not properly prepared, it can be quite a challenge!
For those who have recently completed Kingdom Come: Deliverance 1 and are returning for the sequel, the initial skirmish might not pose significant challenges. On the other hand, newcomers may find themselves quickly overwhelmed during the duel due to the fast-paced nature of the tutorial. Mastering the technique of responding in combat is essential, but since managing stamina is a key aspect of battle (a concept that might not be immediately obvious from the tutorial), even mastering this skill might not guarantee victory if your stamina depletes too quickly.
5.
Michael
The Choice Is Yours

In an unusual part of Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, Henry and Hans Capon find themselves invited to Nebakov Castle. While Capon engages in noble discussions with the supposed lord of the castle, Henry will be led through a series of questionable activities orchestrated by the castle’s inhabitants.
An activity involves sparring with Michael, the affable head of the guard. Michael isn’t an opponent to underestimate, and should you emerge victorious, a valuable prize awaits. However, it won’t be easy to win. You’ll have the upper hand since Henry gets to select the weapons, but if your combat skills aren’t polished yet at this stage in the game, it will still be challenging for you.
4.
Lord Jan Semine
Hands On Networking

Based on your decision to assist either the miller or the blacksmith to gain entry into the Semine wedding, you could potentially forfeit the opportunity to duel Lord Jan Semine. But if you’ve opted to support the blacksmith, that battle will occur during the side quest known as “The Jaunt”.
Despite his advanced years, the lord remains proficient with his old mace, and during their joint investigation, he occasionally tests Henry to a friendly duel as a diversion from their horse ride. Since this is one of the first duels encountered in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, you might find it challenging since Lord Semine is an unusually aggressive opponent in what should be a peaceful encounter.
3.
Zizka
Henry’s Last Chance

In Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, one character who has been heavily teased and carries significant importance is Zizka, who confronts Henry following the crushing defeat of Von Bergow’s initial assault on Nebakov castle. As one of the few remaining soldiers from Bergow’s army, Henry finds himself squaring off against the leader of Nebakov, Zizka.
Although those who’ve advanced are aware that Zizka will ultimately become an ally to Henry and Hans, there’s no sign of this friendly figure yet. He proposes a duel with Henry, the outcome of which will spare his life if he demonstrates his worth as a skilled warrior – a feat not easily achieved.
2.
Tomcat
Consider Cheating

On the edge of being a boss character and merely an adversary, Tomcat’s level of difficulty sets him apart and earns him high respect. By the end of the prologue, you’ll likely notice Tomcat at the Nomads’ Camp, making it seem like learning from him should be done promptly. However, it would be wiser to hold off on this.
Despite Tomcat offering you valuable sword fighting strategies that will simplify combat throughout the game, mastering his top move (the Master Strike) can only be achieved by defeating him in a duel. Given that Tomcat possesses this skill and Henry does not, the battle seems almost insurmountable, particularly given Henry’s early-game armor. However, Tomcat’s strategic blunder was placing himself near the Nomad Camp’s potion seller. If Henry invests in some Bane poison to coat his sword, all it takes is a single strike on Tomcat and then simply waiting him out for an advantageous boss fight.
1.
Erik
Equivalent Final Boss

In Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, the intricate narrative introduces several detestable adversaries, but it’s Henry’s intense rivalry with Erik that stands out. During a pivotal moment near the midpoint of the story, as Henry prepares to eliminate Istvan Toth, he discovers a romantic link between his formidable enemy and the prominent soldier Erik. Matters escalate when, in Maleshov, Henry secretly witnesses Erik learning about his lover’s demise, an event that enrages him so much that he contemplates killing not only the man but also an unfortunate dog nearby.
At the game’s conclusion, Henry’s intense dislike reaches a peak when he is issued a formal duel challenge at the deserted Sigismund Camp. Henry has the option to bypass this confrontation entirely, and as part of his deliberations, he seeks advice from the friendly folk at Suchdol about how they would handle the situation if they were in Henry’s shoes.
In the mix of differing suggestions, Henry finds the finest idea from Zizka – provoking Erik with mockery prior to the fight. Should Henry choose to act on this advice before the intense battle commences, Erik is likely to become noticeably careless during the contest, significantly increasing the chances of victory.
