What are the plot details?

The official plot synopsis is yet to be released. The article offers that in the sequel, the long-awaited Mortal Kombat tournament finally begins — the main event fans have been waiting to see on screen. The first film followed Shang Tsung (Chin Hang), the Outworld sorcerer, as he tried to sabotage Earthrealm’s champions before the tournament even started. Now, the real fight is on. If Earthrealm loses its tenth straight tournament, Shao Kahn will invade and conquer Earth. The stakes have never been higher.

“They keep score throughout the movie,” Mortal Kombat creator ED Boon said of the tournament in the sequel. “There’s a visual representation of who is winning…. It’s not just a tournament for the sake of a tournament. There are huge consequences, so you really are keeping score. And there are a lot of twists in it that keep you on your toes.”

Additional details include that since they’ve killed so many characters – and some are seemingly returning – they “deal with spirits and the NetherRealm and things like that,” according to Boon.

I traverse through numerous diverse realms, which undeniably lends a unique and multifaceted visual style to the movie,” I would say, as explained by McQuoid.

The dynamic between Scorpion and Sub-Zero will also come into play.

Gamers are also in for a treat at the Mortal Kombat 2 skins will be coming to the Mortal Kombat 1 video game later this year.
