More Actors Join Henry Cavill’s ‘Highlander’ As Cast Continues to Grow

The cast for Chad Stahelski’s Highlander reboot keeps expanding.

According to THR, Siobhán Cullen, Jun Jong-seo, Nassim Lyes, and Kevin McKidd have been cast in the movie, joining an already impressive group of actors.

Henry Cavill stars as Connor MacLeod in the film, alongside Russell Crowe as Ramirez, Dave Bautista as Kurgan, and Karen Gillan as Heather, who plays MacLeod’s wife. Marisa Abela will portray an immortal warrior and a potential love interest for Cavill, while Jeremy Irons is set to play the villain and leader of The Watchers. Djimon Hounsou appears as an African immortal warrior, and Max Zhang and Drew McIntyre (from WWE) have also joined the cast.

Who’s Playing Who

Regarding the newly announced cast additions:

Siobhán Cullen portrays a police psychiatrist who discovers the secret of immortals and joins forces with MacLeod.

Jun Jong-seo plays a member of The Watchers, a hidden group that keeps tabs on immortals, referencing the original Highlander TV series starring Adrian Paul.

Nassim Lyes stars as an immortal hunting MacLeod.

Kevin McKidd’s role is not yet revealed.

These changes emphasize how ambitious this new installment is and the expansive universe Chad Stahelski is creating. It combines the story and themes of the first movie with key parts of the original TV show, notably the mysterious figures known as The Watchers.

Production Delayed After Cavill Injury

Originally, the movie was scheduled to begin production this fall. However, filming has been delayed until early 2026 because Henry Cavill injured his ankle while preparing for the role.

I’ve been following this actor, and it’s really inspiring to see how dedicated he is to his new role. He’s been posting updates about his work in rehab and all the training he’s doing, and it’s clear he’s taking it incredibly seriously.

Returning to the Highlander Legacy

The original ‘Highlander’ movie, released in 1986 with Christopher Lambert and Sean Connery, gained a dedicated following and led to several sequels and a popular TV series starring Adrian Paul. Now, Chad Stahelski and Amazon MGM’s United Artists own the complete rights to the franchise and have suggested they’re considering new projects, potentially including another TV series.
