Monster Hunter Wilds Will Reduce VRAM Usage on PC With Title Update 1

In their most recent communication, Monster Hunter Wilds‘ director, Yuya Tokuda, admitted that despite its commercial and critical acclaim with Capcom, some technical problems persist for players, particularly in PC optimization. He promised improvements by reducing VRAM usage and implementing DirectStorage, changes aimed at enhancing the game’s stability.

Starting from April 3rd with Title Update 1, we’re going live, but our team is still working diligently to address stability concerns, particularly on the Steam version. This is an ongoing endeavor for us, aiming to make consistent progress in improving this aspect and addressing critical issues as they arise.

Absolutely, I’m all for enhancing the overall technical experience across all platforms. This could potentially pave the way for more refinements on the Xbox Series X/S and PS5, which, let’s be honest, have room for improvement in terms of visuals. The developer also intends to examine the broader aspects of gameplay flow, including the in-game economy, balance, and other areas.

Ultimately, the May update will introduce a catalog of locally-found life forms, simplifying the task of identifying any overlooked species. Furthermore, customizable weapon skins, known as layered weapons, will be reintroduced, enabling players to personalize their Artian weapons based on fashion preferences. At this point, we don’t have a specific timeline for additional updates, so keep an eye out for further announcements.

You can find “Monster Hunter Rampage” on the Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, and PC platforms. In its initial month, it managed to sell more than 10 million copies. To read our review of this game, click here.
