I’m absolutely thrilled! The Wilds in Monster Hunter have gotten even wilder with the arrival of Akuma from Street Fighter 6, stepping into the battle himself! Unlike other hunters, Akuma has a unique arsenal of MonHun weapons, derived from his own SF6 moveset. Get ready to unleash his iconic fighting moves such as Gou Hadoken, Gou Shoryuken, Drive Impact, and even Shun Goku Satsu! However, before you can dish out some classic demon-fist justice to the monsters, there’s a side quest that needs to be completed first.

The most recent side mission in Monster Hunter Wilds is called “Ultimate Strength” and is part of their collaboration with Street Fighter 6. This quest isn’t particularly combat-heavy; instead, you’ll be searching for carcasses more often than fighting. The challenge lies in locating these remains as the exact spot isn’t disclosed. Here’s a comprehensive guide on completing the Ultimate Strength mission in Monster Hunter Wilds, which eventually grants access to SF6’s Akuma when finished.

How to Start Ultimate Strength Quest in Monster Hunter Wilds?

To initiate the side mission titled “Ultimate Strength” in Monster Hunter Wilds, it’s essential to converse with Quinn initially, who resides in the Oilwell Basin region. You can swiftly access this location by fast traveling to the Oilwell Basin basecamp. Upon interacting with this NPC from the Vespae Unit, you will gain a clear understanding of the situation unfolding. Due to an increase in Tempered Monsters appearing in the Oilwell Basin, these creatures have been mysteriously dying, causing disruption to the entire ecosystem. As a result, Quinn will appeal for your assistance, marking the commencement of this quest line in Monster Hunter Wilds.

Steps to Complete the Ultimate Strength Quest in Monster Hunter Wilds

The side mission called “The Ultimate Strength Quest” may appear straightforward, but it does consist of several stages that need to be tackled. Here’s a breakdown of what you should do to wrap up this side mission:

1. First Stage
2. Second Stage
3. Third Stage
4. Fourth Stage (if applicable)
5. Final Stage

By completing each stage in the correct order, you will successfully finish “The Ultimate Strength Quest” side mission.

  • Talk to Quinn in the Oilwell Basin to start the mission.
  • Optional: Talk to Chlorolo and Latner in the Azuz Everforge to have a better idea of the locations and what you are dealing with.
  • Next, you will have to find two carcasses: one in the upper stratum and one in the middle stratum.
  • Once you have found both carcasses, head back to the Azuz Everforge and talk to Maki.
  • Next, you will have to search the lower subterrane in the Oilwell Basin for the character who uses his bare fists to hunt down monsters. This is none other than Akuma.
  • Once you find Akuma, a short cutscene will ensue where you will be royally defeated by the fighting demon. He will then tell you to beat a monster and prove your mettle.
  • Head to the Grand Hub and accept the Arena Quest named Demonic Strength. This will be a hunt for a Tempered Ajarakan with 5-star difficulty and 3-star strength.
  • After defeating the Tempered Ajarakan in the Arena Quest, head back to Akuma at the same position and talk to him one last time.

By doing so, you’ll accomplish the Side Quest “Ultimate Strength” linked to Monster Hunter Wilds within the partnership with Street Fighter 6.

Where to Find Carcass in The Upper Stratum in Monster Hunter Wilds Ultimate Strength Side Quest?

In the upper layer of the Oilwell Basin, you’ll discover the remains of a Tempered Rathian tucked between Areas 2 and 5, specifically for the Ultimate Strength side mission in Monster Hunter Worlds. Remember to equip your Ghillie Mantle once you reach this point as other creatures such as Rathian, Gypceros, or Rompopolo are known to roam around here.

In the higher sections of the Oilwell Basin, you’ll stumble upon a Tempered Rathian between Areas 2 and 5 for the Ultimate Strength side gig in Monster Hunter Worlds. To stay safe, don your Ghillie Mantle when you arrive at this point because other critters like Rathian, Gypceros, or Rompopolo often hang out here.

As you approach the specified area, your Palico will alert you when something seems amiss, indicating that you’re generally in the correct spot. Conversely, if you’re not at the right location, your Palico will signal this as well. Once you’ve located the carcass, follow the path to reach its middle level to continue your search.

Where to Find Carcass in The Middle Stratum in Monster Hunter Wilds Ultimate Strength Side Quest?

In Monster Hunter Wilds, for the Ultimate Strength side quest, you’ll discover the remains of a Tempered Gypceros tucked away in Area 11 of the Oilwell Basin. Unlike higher levels, this area is more isolated and less prone to surprise monster encounters. Nevertheless, it’s wise to keep your Ghillie Mantle handy for concealment.

A more straightforward approach would be to teleport straight to the Area 9: Middle Strata South temporary camp, then take a brief walk to Area 11. Upon locating the two remains at these locations, make your way back to Maki, who is stationed in Azuz.

Where to Find Akuma in The Lowermost Subterrane in Monster Hunter Wilds Ultimate Strength Side Quest?

You can locate Akuma at the easternmost part of the lower level in Oilwell Basin within Monster Hunter Wilds. This area resembles a Y-shape, situated to the east of Area 14. Inside a small cave nestled within this location, you’ll find Akuma biding his time. While his presence might stir excitement among many, beware! Akuma has no intention of collaborating and will instead deliver a punishing punch with his raw fists.

Yet, the monster slayer will invite you to engage in an Arena Challenge, where you must defeat a beast. Should you triumph, Akuma will cease his pursuit of monsters and unintentionally preserve the local ecosystem.

How to Beat Tempered Ajarakan in Demonic Strength Arena Quest?

To demonstrate your worth against Akuma, you’ll face a powerful Tempered Ajarakan in the culminating test for the Ultimate Strength side mission in Monster Hunter Worlds. The intriguing part is that you’ll have an opportunity to assume the role of Akuma himself during an Arena Quest, and potentially acquire some equipment reminiscent of his Street Fighter 6 game arsenal.

Here are the details of the Demonic Strength Arena Quest in Monster Hunter Wilds:

  • Monster: Tempered Ajarakan
  • Difficulty: 5-star
  • Strength: 3-star
  • Total Time: 50 minutes
  • Fail Criteria: Faint 9 times

The Ajarakan hunt under controlled conditions isn’t challenging, making it suitable for novice hunters. They should be able to finish the hunt within the designated timeframe. As it’s an arena quest, however, your performance is graded based on how quickly you complete it.

Grade Completion Time
A Less than or equal to 5 minutes.
B More than 5 minutes and less than or equal to 15 minutes
C More than 15 minutes and less than or equal to 50 minutes.

Tips and Tricks to Beat Tempered Ajarakan in Demonic Strength Arena Quest

Before delving into the strategies, remember that for this Arena Quest, you’ll have the opportunity to control Akuma. In Monster Hunter Wilds, he can wield one of the following six weapons exclusively.

  • Long Sword
  • Great Sword
  • Switch Axe
  • Insect Glaive
  • Bow
  • Heavy Bowgun

To get the most out of this battle, we advise you to utilize only Akuma’s melee attack techniques against Tempered Ajarakan. Here are some helpful tips and strategies for defeating him.

  • Before the fight, remember to equip Gou Shoryuken as your slinger ammunition. This will allow you to spam this move anytime when you are at a distance, and it deals an impressive amount of damage.
  • Get close to the monster and activate Assisted Combo: Akuma to use melee moves.
  • Start with the Light Punch, and then combo them into your Medium Standing Kick and Heavy Standing Kick.
  • You can also use Heavy Gou Shoryuken during this combo.
  • Use the full combo OD Tatsumaki Zanku-kyaku when the monster is stunned to deal massive damage.
  • You will be able to use your Drive Impact: Oni Goroshi as an offset attack, so look for opportunities to take advantage of this.
  • After you have used Drive Impact once, it will enter a cooldown state that will recharge in a very short while.
  • If you see an injury on the monster, immediately use Focus Mode and then use Drive Impact on the enemy. This will trigger Shun Goku Satsu, and deals huge damage to the monster.

Continue this process until the character Tempered Ajarakan is vanquished. Once you successfully conquer the beast, a KO screen will show up, featuring the same voiceover as Street Fighter 6. The time it takes to complete this task will determine your rewards. Additionally, you’ll receive an SF6 Ticket which can be utilized to unlock armor for Akuma in Monster Hunter Wilds.
