Titled fittingly as “The Unrestricted Character and Palico Editor”, this mod developed by Ridog8 and shared on Nexus Mods has garnered over 13,000 downloads so far. As per the mod’s description, you can edit freely, even if your vouchers for editing happen to be at “0”.

Editing Your Character Has Been Paywalled

Before the game’s release, it became known that similar to previous Monster Hunter games, the feature to customize your character would be restricted using “edit vouchers,” priced at $6.99 for three character and Palico editing sessions.

The specific announcement sparked fans to demand the elimination of the microtransaction, as it seems the developers are exploiting players’ desire for customization by charging money, knowing they wouldn’t want to erase 40 hours of gameplay progress to achieve it, according to a user in a popular Reddit post.

Without a doubt, the dispute surrounding the release of Wilds didn’t hinder its successful debut. Just after it was launched, the game swiftly attracted more than a million simultaneous players on Steam. In fact, the introduction of Wilds also boosted Steam itself, helping it achieve a new all-time high of over 40 million active users – a record for the platform.
