Monster Hunter Wilds’ first major update rights its greatest wrong by adding a proper Palico cooking animation, and it’s letting you change Alma’s glasses

Capcom has unveiled a major update for Monster Hunter World, packed with surprises like the return of Zoh Shia, an expanded social space known as the Grand Hub, and much more. However, the true aficionados of Monster Hunter are thrilled about two lesser-known aspects: players can customize Alma’s appearance now, and it looks like Palicoes will be regularly preparing meals from hereon.

Monster Hunter is recognized for its elaborate cooking and dining scenes, which are showcased quite a bit in Wilds due to occasional village feast cut-scenes. However, the series’ usual Palico chefs at base camp have been swapped out for a more practical but less entertaining portable barbecue grill instead.

It appears that Palico cooks are returning to the kitchen in the latest Grand Hub, as evidenced by footage from the new showcase. This trio of Palico chefs is preparing an array of meals for the player, making it seem much cozier than cooking alone at a barbecue in the wilderness.

For fans who cherish their virtual companions, Update 1 titled “Title Update 1” offers customization features for your beloved character, Alma. Initially, you’ll receive one complimentary outfit change option. What’s even more exciting is that once you accomplish a specific side mission, you can also swap out Alma’s glasses independently from the rest of her attire. Isn’t it incredible how these game updates keep surprising us?

Title Update 1 Debuts on Either April 3rd or 4th, Varying by Location, and There’s More Exciting News for Monster Hunter World: Fans have been waiting seven years, but their prayers are finally being answered as Capcom reintroduces the beloved Lagiacrus to Monster Hunter World this coming summer.
