It appears that certain critics completed Monster Hunter Rise in less than 15 hours, suggesting that the game might be shorter than some of its previous versions. However, additional quests, hunts, and endgame material can extend the playtime significantly. Fortunately, devoted fans of the franchise are expecting additional content through downloadable packs to further lengthen the gameplay.
It’s great news that a good amount of downloadable content (DLC) for “Monster Hunter Wilds” was revealed before its launch, with developers assuring players that they’ll keep releasing updates post-launch. The roadmap for “Monster Hunter Wilds” after its release has been outlined, complete with dates and windows for all the DLC announced thus far. This roadmap will be updated whenever fresh content is disclosed.

All Confirmed DLC for Monster Hunter Wilds (Post-Release Roadmap)
Three additional content packs were unveiled along with the standard and upgraded versions of “Monster Hunter Wilds” back in October 2024. These add-ons, two of which focus on cosmetics, can be obtained either by purchasing the premium deluxe edition or separately, as mentioned on the game’s Xbox store page. The cosmetic DLC packs primarily offer cosmetic items, though they also include a few musical tracks for variety.
During Sony’s State of Play in February 2025, producer Ryozo Tsujimoto shared insights into the team’s post-release content strategy for Monster Hunter Wilds. Mizutsune is set to join the game as part of the Spring expansion, accompanied by some special event quests and additional updates. Further, another new monster and even more event quests are expected in the upcoming title update.
