Monster Hunter Wilds could be getting a Street Fighter 6 collab

Monster Hunter Rise hinted at the possibility of a joint project with Street Fighter 6, suggesting an opportunity for gamers to obtain additional intricate armors once again.

On the 19th of May, Capcom shared an image: a Palico’s paw against a blue backdrop that bears a strong resemblance to the graffiti-style backgrounds from Street Fighter. The parallel becomes even more apparent when examining the official social media posts for Street Fighter 6.

It’s not unprecedented that Monster Hunter has partnered with Street Fighter. In fact, as far back as September 2020, gamers playing Monster Hunter World were able to acquire Ryu and Sakura-themed armor layers by successfully hunting monsters.

Monster Hunter Wilds x Street Fighter 6 collab

In August 2021, Monster Hunter Rise introduced a special armor set for its character based on Street Fighter’s villain Akuma. The unique aspect of this set was that it turned sword and shield attacks into kicks and punches, while kunai attacks were replaced with Akuma’s famous Gohadoken and Zanku Hadoken moves.

In addition to Street Fighter 6, it collaborated with Capcom’s monster-hunting series for their 20th anniversary celebration. This collaboration allowed players to buy exclusive items such as the Rathalos armor avatar outfit, emoticons, and unique titles.

In all likelihood, it’s not unusual to anticipate that Monster Hunter Wilds might feature Street Fighter-inspired items. Although Capcom hasn’t disclosed specific details about the collaboration, it seems plausible that players may need to defeat monsters in order to obtain a complimentary armor set as a reward.

As a dedicated Monster Hunter World gamer, I’m pumped about the upcoming DLC! The version 1.011 update, due at the end of May, should give us more details on what’s coming next. Plus, it’s exciting to know that the crossover will happen before Title Update 2. If this collab turns out to be Street Fighter themed, I can hardly wait to show off my Lagiacrus-slaying moves in true fighting game style!
