Players exploring the Rotten Vale in Monster Hunter World noticed something incredible: the area is filled with the remains of the massive monster, Dalamadur. Sharp-eyed fans like KaiserGSaw on Reddit quickly realized that many of the bones and structures in the Rotten Vale aren’t just random debris – they’re actually parts of Dalamadur itself, suggesting the entire area is built from its remains.

So, like with the last Monster Hunter game, they brought back a huge monster corpse and built stuff on it! It’s seriously noticeable – you can even see the shape of its skull in the training area, the Wounded Hollow. It’s pretty wild seeing a monster’s remains become part of the world like that.

While these details might seem like simple references to a famous scene from the show’s past, there are now so many of them that it’s hard to believe they’re just coincidences.

Monster Hunter Wilds Can Finally Handle More Snake Wyverns

It took a long time to bring Lagiacrus back because Capcom struggled with the creature’s skeletal animation in the updated game engine, a problem that designer Wilds eventually solved. Beyond just Lagiacrus, the initial monsters in the game – Nu Udra and Wu Xu – demonstrated that Capcom had significantly expanded the possibilities compared to previous Monster Hunter titles.

With excitement building about new monsters in Monster Hunter Wilds, now would be an ideal time to add Dalamadur as a difficult, end-game challenge, similar to how Fatalis concluded the post-game content in Monster Hunter World.

Even though there’s still a long way to go with all the planned content for Wilds, it would be a huge mistake not to fully feature the Elder Dragon, particularly after the impressive way Gogmazios was incorporated in the game’s fourth update.

Dalamadur feels more connected to the story of Wilds than it did in Monster Hunter World. The game explains that its catastrophic return is what drove the people of Wyveria to create the Guardians, and also clarifies how its body ended up in the game’s location.

Monster Hunter Wilds Has Already Borrowed Plenty From Monster Hunter 4

Everyone’s known for a while that Monster Hunter Wilds draws heavily from Monster Hunter 4 more than any other game in the series. Some even see Wilds as a continuation of the spirit and ideas found in the original 3DS game.

Considering how Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate connections are appearing – like Genma being the adult Little Miss Forge, Fabius as the Ace Lancer, and the return of challenging monsters such as Gore Magala, Seregios, and Gogmazios in the late game – it’s very possible Capcom might bring back one of the most difficult hunts from MH4U after all this time.

Dalamadur isn’t the only monster that would be perfect for a large-scale hunt like the one against Gogmazios. Jhen Mohran and Dahren Mohran, both incredibly large monsters, would also fit well into the expansive desert environment shown at the beginning of Monster Hunter Wilds.

Even if the upcoming expansion for Monster Hunter Wilds changes things up from the style of MH4U, there’s still potential for more powerful Elder Dragons to be added. Based on the current path the game is taking, it feels like it’s only a matter of time before the fan-favorite Serpent King makes a comeback.
