Okay, so Capcom just dropped a new trailer for Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection and I’m hyped! They’ve been showing off a cool new feature called ‘Habitat Restoration’. Basically, you’ll be helping monsters that are struggling by bringing them back to where they belong and rebuilding their homes. It sounds like a great way to really make the world feel alive and thriving. They also talked about a Dual-Element system and some DLC coming later, but honestly, restoring monster habitats sounds like the best part so far!

New Mechanics and Monsters Emerge in Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection
Capcom recently shared more details about Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection, with producer Ryozo Tsujimoto explaining the new information from the latest trailer. Players will learn about the role of the Ranger Corps, a brave team led by the main character, who are dedicated to protecting the natural world. As a dangerous phenomenon called the Crystal Encroachment threatens to destroy habitats, the Rangers must find and hatch rare monster eggs to prevent chaos in the kingdoms of Azuria and Vermeil.
The Road to Recovery – Habitat Restoration and Ecosystem Ranks
When areas begin to crystallize, dangerous monsters invade, forcing out the creatures that naturally live there and damaging their homes. To protect these ecosystems, Rangers fight back against the invaders, driving them back to their lairs and rescuing the eggs of species that have been displaced.
Once an egg is safe, Rangers work to rebuild habitats, releasing both endangered and other displaced monsters back into the wild to help each region thrive. As these monsters reclaim their territory, they protect new eggs that can hatch into Monsties – companions who join the player’s adventure. Returning these hatched Monsties to the wild improves the health of the ecosystem and restores balance to each region. Each successful restoration increases the region’s Ecosystem Rank, making it easier to find rare eggs, discover powerful monsters, and hatch Monsties with unique abilities and traits.
Power Up Monsties with the Dual-Element System
As I keep leveling up a region’s ecosystem, it actually changes the monsters that hatch there, which is pretty cool! It’s all about this Dual-Element system – basically, a monster can inherit the elements of the area it’s born in. So, if a Thunder monster hatches in a fiery spot, it might learn fire skills and even look different, like it’s been influenced by the heat. This really lets me build a team that’s unique and customized to my playstyle, and it feels great to nurture these monsters and the world around them. It adds a whole new layer to collecting and bonding with my Monsties!
Arkveld Appears!
Okay, so the Monster Hunter Wilds flagship monster, Arkveld, is coming to Monster Hunter Stories! Ryozo Tsujimoto just revealed it, and honestly, it’s a huge deal – this thing looks incredibly powerful and it’s awesome they’re bringing it over to the Stories universe. I’m super hyped to battle it!
