Monarch: Legacy of Monsters Season 2 Trailer Unleashes Godzilla, Kong — and New Titan X

Apple TV has dropped the first trailer for Season 2 of Monarch: Legacy of Monsters, bringing back fan favorites Kong and Godzilla. The trailer also introduces a new, powerful Titan called Titan X, hinting at a bigger challenge ahead.

The popular sci-fi series that helped Apple TV expand into long-form, story-driven shows is coming back on February 27, 2026. The new season will have ten episodes, released weekly every Friday until May 1, 2026.

Watch the trailer below.

New Titan X Debuts

Season 2 expands the Monsterverse with Titan X, a new and enigmatic creature that glows with its own light. It’s been described as a force of nature – a disaster waiting to happen.

The trailer hints at the arrival of Titan X, rising from the deep ocean. Dramatic narration and imagery show the world anxiously awaiting the appearance of this ancient and powerful creature.

We still don’t know where the creature came from or what it wants, but clues suggest it will be the key to the main mystery this season.

Titan X is described as a powerful, ancient being rising from the depths, with mysterious intentions and unparalleled strength.

Skull Island, Secrets, and Titans Collide

The first season centered on a brother and sister who discovered their family’s hidden link to a mysterious group called the Monarch, revealing secrets from both the past and present.

Season 2 continues the story right after the last episode, with the fate of Monarch hanging in the balance and different versions of time colliding.

The latest season brings viewers back to Skull Island, Kong’s home, and unveils a hidden village connected to ancient Titan legends. Secrets from the past resurface, challenging family relationships, loyalty, and the will to survive as a massive, world-threatening event draws near.

Returning and New Cast

I’m so excited about the cast for this show! You’ve got Kurt Russell and his son, Wyatt Russell, both playing the same character, Lee Shaw – how cool is that? Plus, Anna Sawai, Kiersey Clemons, Ren Watabe, Mari Yamamoto, Joe Tippett, and Anders Holm are all part of the main team. And for Season 2, they’ve added even more great actors like Takehiro Hira, Amber Midthunder, Curtiss Cook, Cliff Curtis, Dominique Tipper, and Camilo Jiménez Varón in some guest appearances. It’s shaping up to be an amazing season!

Legendary’s Monsterverse Keeps Growing

The new series, Monarch: Legacy of Monsters, is connected to the popular Monsterverse franchise, a collection of films that have earned over $2.5 billion worldwide since it began with Godzilla in 2014. It comes after the huge success of Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire, which is currently the most financially successful film in the series.

Legendary and Apple are building out the Monsterverse with several new spinoffs. One of these is a prequel series focusing on a young Lee Shaw, starring Wyatt Russell, who is also an executive producer. Joby Harold will be the showrunner for this prequel, and he’s also taking on a larger role overseeing all Monsterverse projects at Apple as part of a new agreement.

The upcoming Godzilla x Kong: Supernova is set for theatrical release in 2027.

Creative Team

Season 2 is led by executive producer and showrunner Chris Black. Joining him are executive producers Joby Harold, Tory Tunnell, Jen Roskind, Matt Shakman, and Lawrence Trilling, who also directed four episodes. Andrew Colville is an executive producer and writer for two episodes, and Hiro Matsuoka and Takemasa Arita from Toho also serve as executive producers, representing the owners of the Godzilla rights.
