‘Modern Family’ Reunion Has Fans Buzzing — But Sofia Vergara Completely Steals the Show

Sofía Vergara recently delighted fans of Modern Family by getting together with some of her former castmates. The actress, best known for playing Gloria Delgado-Pritchett over eleven seasons, posted photos on Instagram with Julie Bowen and Jesse Tyler Ferguson. Jesse’s husband, Justin Mikita, joined them too, showing that the friendships made on the popular ABC show are still going strong.

For a relaxed outing, Sofia Vergara chose a chic, all-brown outfit. She wore a fitted brown knit dress with a matching leather jacket, and accessorized with a beige handbag. Her hair was worn long and loose. A popular photo from the outing was a smiling selfie of her with friends, which she captioned “Reunited!” along with several red hearts.

This get-together is one of many small reunions the cast has had since the show ended in 2020. Vergara has hosted her former co-stars at her Los Angeles home before, and playfully called out Ty Burrell for missing one event by having everyone pose with a picture of him.

She recently shared that the cast stays in close touch through a group chat, saying they’re still like family and continue to support each other in both their careers and personal lives.

As a longtime fan, I was a little worried when the pandemic hit right after the show ended – it seemed like it would make keeping the cast connected nearly impossible. But it’s really heartening to hear Sofia Vergara talk about how everyone has actively worked to reconnect over the last couple of years. Apparently, they did lose touch briefly when the world shut down just after filming wrapped, but they’ve managed to bridge that gap. And honestly, reading the comments section, it’s clear I’m not the only one hoping for a reboot or at least a reunion special – the fans are really craving more!

Sofía Vergara has a busy year ahead, both personally and professionally. She’s joined forces with Octavia Spencer for a major health campaign called “Detect the SOS,” which aims to raise awareness about early kidney disease in people with high blood pressure or diabetes. As part of the campaign, a 30-second commercial called “Mission: SOS” will air during the Super Bowl on February 8th. The ad shows Vergara and Spencer, dressed in leather, on a playful “top-secret mission” to encourage people to get tested.

Beyond her activism, Sofia Vergara recently turned heads at the premiere of the new Paris Hilton documentary, Infinite Icon: A Visual Memoir. She wore a stunning strapless chocolate leather gown and posed with her friend Heidi Klum, reinforcing her reputation as a fashion icon. Vergara is also back as a judge on season 21 of America’s Got Talent, where viewers continue to enjoy her playful dynamic with fellow judges Simon Cowell, Heidi Klum, and Howie Mandel.

Later this year, the 53-year-old actress plans to concentrate on growing her businesses, which include her beauty brand, Toty, and her coffee company, ¡Dios Mío! She’s recently been choosing more intense acting roles, like her performance in Griselda, which earned her an Emmy nomination.
