Mirage: Miracle Quest might just become my next RPG obsession

A fresh indie game development studio based in France called Toe Bean Club has unveiled their first venture, and it appears enchanting and somewhat distinctive.

The freshly titled game is known as “Mirage: Miracle Journey,” and it’s a turn-based role-playing game that draws inspiration from magical girl anime such as Sailor Moon and Cardcaptor Sakura – although Toe Bean Club hasn’t explicitly mentioned these shows, the similarities are obvious. In this adventure, you’ll embody Mirage, a cute, cat-like magical girl who doubles as an exorcist, as you traverse the continent of Andafy, which seems to be a blend of Madagascar, France, and Japan, and confront enigmatic beings.

This game features a distinctive, turn-based battle system blended with deck-building elements, allowing players to tailor their playstyle and establish potent partnerships according to Toe Bean Club. Additionally, you’ll have the opportunity to collaborate with charming companions, each boasting distinct personalities, skills, and abilities.

The game’s visuals are seamlessly integrated with a stunning, hand-painted art style and smooth animations to match. This isn’t unexpected, considering the developers’ background – they have contributed to animated films by Sony Pictures Animation and Remembers, as well as games from Classics F5 and other studios.

Here’s the full description, courtesy of Toe Bean Club:

In a colorful, hand-painted world reminiscent of past eras, players will explore Andafy, a continent that blends the rich cultures and styles of Madagascar, France, and Japan. The protagonist, Mirage, is a young exorcist whose peaceful life is disrupted when a strange beast devastates her town, whispering her grandmother’s name in its dying moments. Accompanied by an endearing group of companions, Mirage embarks on a risky journey to unlock her hidden abilities and uncover the land’s deepest mysteries.

Miracle Quest takes the traditional turn-based role-playing game (RPG) battles and gives them a modern twist by incorporating deck-building elements. This allows players to tailor their gaming experience, design strategic synergies, and approach each combat situation with unique tactics.

Adventurers will encounter powerful adversaries and help troubled souls find tranquility while navigating a realm filled with trials and marvels. Along the journey, they’ll develop bonds with their companions and carve their own path towards becoming a proficient exorcist, battling the malevolent forces attempting to dominate the world!

At this point, a specific launch date for Mirage: Miracle Quest hasn’t been announced, and it’s only confirmed for release on Steam. However, you can visit its Steam page and add it to your wishlist to demonstrate your interest and receive updates once it becomes available.
