Illumination and Universal Pictures revealed the cast for their upcoming film with a humorous video. The video features a Minion named Dick reacting with mock disappointment as a list of impressive actors is announced. The cast includes Academy Award winners Allison Janney, Christoph Waltz, and Jeff Bridges, along with Jesse Eisenberg, Zoey Deutch, Trey Parker, Bobby Moynihan, and Phil LaMarr.
Not bad. NOT BAD AT ALL.
The movie will show how these famous yellow characters became so successful. Here’s what the movie is about, according to its official description:
This is the wild, funny, and completely true story of how the Minions took over Hollywood, became famous actors, lost it all, accidentally unleashed monsters, and then teamed up to try and fix the chaos they caused.
Pierre Coffin, the director of all three Despicable Me movies and the first Minions film, returns to direct this new installment. He also continues to provide the voice for the Minions. The screenplay was written by Brian Lynch, who previously wrote the Minions movie.
Could this movie win an Oscar? With a cast full of Academy Award winners, the team behind Minions & Monsters is hoping for success when the film hits theaters on July 1st.
