Professional wrestler Mike “The Miz” Mizanin has been chosen as the host for the upcoming revival of the popular show American Gladiators, which is set to premiere on Amazon’s streaming service, Prime Video.
The announcement was made by MGM Alternative ahead of Amazon’s annual upfront presentation.
The Miz Takes Center Stage
Renowned for his versatile charm, The Miz boasts a rich background that spans both professional wrestling and reality television. His journey commenced on “The Real World: Back to New York” and later earned him the title of a two-time WWE Grand Slam Champion. Additionally, he has showcased his talents on “Dancing with the Stars” and starred in his own series, “Miz & Mrs.
“Let’s Go!!! #AWESOME,” reacted Mizanin on social media.
He exclaimed, “I’m absolutely thrilled to share that I’ve been chosen as the new host for AMERICAN GLADIATORS! My inner ten-year-old is going wild – this show was a big part of my childhood memories. I used to watch it with my father, and being involved in its revival is bringing back countless fond recollections. A heartfelt thank you to MGM and Amazon Prime Video for giving me the responsibility of preserving such an iconic heritage. To the fans, we’re putting in a lot of effort to produce something exceptional that pays tribute to the original while infusing it with fresh vitality for a new audience. Get ready!!! AMERICAN GLADIATORS is making a comeback, and it’s bigger and more daring than ever!
This signifies the revival of the ’90s-style competition show, featuring fresh events, a contemporary group of Gladiators, and some familiar challenges such as “Gauntlet,” “Hang Tough,” and “The Eliminator.

The revamped “American Gladiators” will showcase a refreshed lineup consisting of professional bodybuilders, top-tier athletes from Division I, CrossFit champions, and elite fitness coaches. It draws upon the triumph of its 2024 UK counterpart, which claimed the title as the most popular new entertainment series in Britain in seven years.

- American Gladiators 24/7 FAST channel is now live on Prime Video FAST, streaming 200+ episodes from the original 1989 series.
- Gladiators Live Tour, produced by Live Nation, sold out most venues within days of launch. Two extra shows have been added in Glasgow to meet demand. The tour runs Nov. 1 – Dec. 21, 2025.
