Two individuals, Daniel RPK and MyTimeToShine, have concurred that Mike Colter will reprise his role as Luke Cage within the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).
Following the announcement, it has been confirmed that Krysten Ritter will once again take on the role of Jessica Jones in the second season of Daredevil: Born Again.
From Marvel Netflix To Marvel Studios
Initially, Colter made an appearance as Luke Cage in the Netflix show “Jessica Jones”. Later on, he headlined his own series, “Luke Cage”, and was also a part of the team-up series, “Defenders”. These shows were all part of the Marvel era on Netflix, which functioned independently from Marvel Studios under the supervision of Jeph Loeb.
Currently, Marvel is facing challenges on Disney+, leading Kevin Feige to revamp the television sector of the MCU following the costly failure of “Secret Invasion.” In response, the studio is taking a second look at the Netflix series that gained fan approval.
In simpler terms, Charlie Cox’s portrayal of Daredevil is moving things forward, although progress is somewhat sluggish due to the ongoing changes. Hawkeye’s (Ritter) comeback has sparked conversations about the potential return of other characters like Colter.

What The Rumors Say
I’m excited to share that, according to Daniel RPK and MyTimeToShine, it appears Colter could be returning as Luke Cage. Officially, we don’t have confirmation just yet, but the timing seems compelling since Colter completed his series ‘Evil’ on Paramount+ last year. Here’s hoping we get an official announcement soon!
I just learned that Colter has been cast in a new legal drama series called “Cupertino” on CBS. Perhaps this means he can handle two roles simultaneously.
Previously, Finn Jones (Davos Seaworth), Kaitlyn Dever as Kate Kane (AKA Batwoman), and Colter Stevens (Sloan) have hinted at a possible return. Moreover, Marvel’s television chief, Brad Winderbaum, acknowledged that the studio is currently investigating potential stories for these Netflix superheroes to reappear in.

What It Means For The MCU
Should Colter make a comeback, he’d reunite most of the principal Defenders within Marvel Studios – namely Daredevil, Jessica Jones, and Luke Cage. There are whispers that Danny Rand (Iron Fist) might undergo recasting or a fresh take.
