The much-awaited sci-fi film by director Bong Joon Ho, titled Mickey 17, is set to make its global debut. According to the latest news, this movie featuring Robert Pattinson will have its premiere at the Berlin International Film Festival.

According to a Variety report, the upcoming film worth $118 million is scheduled for its South Korean premiere on February 28, 2025, after which it plans to launch internationally, exactly one week later.

For those unaware, Bong Joon Ho’s upcoming project will be his first directorial venture since his critically acclaimed film, Parasite, which garnered numerous accolades including the prestigious Palme d’Or at Cannes and the historic milestone of being the first foreign language film to win the Academy Award for Best Picture in 2019.

Per reports, Mickey 17 might even have a premiere in South Korea before the Berlinale unspooling.

The film “Mickey 17” is adapted from the 2022 novel “Mickey7” penned by Edward Ashton. This story follows the thrilling escapades of its namesake protagonist, who undertakes perilous journeys with the objective of establishing a colony on an icy planet.

The story primarily focuses on the character of Robert Pattinson, portrayed as a seemingly disposable employee named Mickey Barnes. Sharing the screen with him are other talented actors, including the one from Water for Elephants, namely Naomi Ackie, Toni Collette, and Mark Ruffalo.
