Michael B. Jordan and Chadwick Boseman appeared together in the 2018 Marvel film Black Panther. Jordan played the villain Erik Killmonger, and Boseman portrayed King T’Challa. The movie was a significant cultural event and strengthened the bond between the two actors.
Chadwick Boseman passed away in August 2020 at 43 years old, after a four-year private battle with colon cancer. Following his death, Michael B. Jordan posted a heartfelt tribute on Instagram, sharing memories of their friendship and careers. He wrote, “I’ve been trying to find the words, but nothing comes close to how I feel,” and added, “I wish we had more time.”
In the same post, Jordan recalled Boseman telling him they would always be connected, a sentiment that stayed with him after Boseman’s death. He also shared that Boseman had been a mentor early in his career, inspiring him to live and work with intention. Jordan wrote, “You taught me how to improve, stay true to my goals, and build something lasting.”
Jordan concluded his heartfelt tribute by describing Boseman as a genuine hero, vowing to emulate the grace and bravery his friend demonstrated. He affectionately referred to Boseman as a king, simply writing, “Yes. He. Is.” and finished with a final message: “Rest in power, brother.”
