Mia Goth has responded to a lawsuit brought by a background actor on her horror movie, MaXXXine, but hasn’t shared specifics about the legal issue.
In a recent interview with Elle magazine, she stated she couldn’t discuss the matter right now. However, she suggested that people could easily find the information themselves and form their own opinions, as the situation is still developing.
James Hunter, a background actor on the film MaXXXine, filed a lawsuit in January 2024, as was first reported by TheWrap.
Hunter alleges that Goth kicked him in the head while he was down during a scene. He claims this caused a concussion and lasting headaches, and he even nearly passed out while driving home afterward.
Hunter claims the fake blood used during filming dried on him, making him uncomfortable. He reported this to the assistant director, but alleges that Goth then made fun of him. After this, Hunter says he was told his work on the film was finished and he wasn’t needed for the rest of the shoot.
The lawsuit alleges battery against Mia Goth and also claims Ti West, the director of MaXXXine, and the production company A24 wrongfully terminated someone.
The case is still in progress, and Goth has been careful with her public statements. She encourages everyone to review the available evidence and form their own opinions.
