The memoir “Dancing with Diana: A Memoir,” penned by Princess Diana’s secret dance instructor, Anne Allan, is being transformed into a 90-minute documentary feature. Sphere Media, a Canadian production and distribution company, has acquired the rights to adapt this captivating tale, while Two Rivers Media, based in Glasgow, will collaborate as co-producer.
Anne Allan, once a dance instructor to the former Princess of Wales, was also a collaborator who co-choreographed Diana’s memorable ‘Uptown Girl’ performance, which she presented for her husband, Prince Charles, at the Royal Opera House in 1985.
The feature documentary is set to explore a nine-year period, commencing from 1981 – the year when Allan initiated dance tutoring for Princess Diana. As reported by Deadline, they spent countless hours, approximately hundreds, rehearsing dances at a secluded dance studio. Through these sessions, their friendship deepened and strengthened over time.
As I found myself catapulted into global stardom upon my union with the British royal family, the bond between us grew even stronger – my friends, my confidants, my support system through it all. Rumor has it that this upcoming documentary will delve into the highs and lows of my journey as a mother, as well as the tumultuous tale of my marriage to Prince Charles.
The creators are excited to announce that the upcoming feature will showcase exclusive materials, like photographs, mementos, and private messages from the Princess, never revealed before. As reported by Deadline, Allan expressed his excitement about Sphere Media and Two Rivers Media bringing “Dancing with Diana” to our screens.
Regarding the “unique collaboration,” Allan gleefully looked forward to seeing the finished documentary on feature length. She felt blessed to have been privy to Diana’s deep passion for dance and to have cultivated a close bond with her personally.
Allan expresses his wish for viewers to value the unique perspective the documentary offers and to grasp the extraordinary nature of Diana more profoundly. Moreover, Marlo Miagza, the president of Sphere Media, discussed the project with an outlet, disclosing that it delves into a fresh aspect of the widely admired and legendary public figure, Diana.
Miagza mentioned that Anne’s memoir offers a wealth of fresh viewpoints and personal, revealing glimpses into one of the most closely examined figures in history.
