He also likened the project to an acid trip, suggesting that supernatural elements might play a significant role.
The movie might delve into a storyline centering around the Descent into Hell, a religious belief in Catholicism that depicts Christ going to Hell after His crucifixion to free the damned souls. This theme aligns with Gibson’s statements about the film’s grand scope and intricate plot.
In the spirit of its predecessor, the initial movie skillfully blended otherworldly aspects with a powerful portrayal of the crucifixion, establishing a lofty benchmark.
