Meghan Markle’s latest show, “With Love, Meghan,” has made it into Netflix’s top 10 listings. This success for the former “Suits” star comes after her cooking series received a mixed response from both viewers and critics. Following the release of the trailer, there have been more dislikes than likes (only 21,000 likes) registered so far.
Initially, I must admit, the show didn’t exactly take off like a rocket. But, against all odds, it found its footing and snagged the 10th spot on the popular streaming platform. Unfortunately, the online critics weren’t overly generous with their reviews post-release, as the series currently holds a 33% rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
In the storyline, Markle brings along colleagues for sessions on cooking and gardening. Previous news articles suggested that the ex-royal subtly criticized the British Royal Family, while joyously embracing a fresh phase of life with Prince Harry and their children in California.
Based on data from Flixpatrol, the new show quickly climbed into the top 10 rankings in its debut day across 47 nations, with countries like Canada, Croatia, Ireland, Kenya, and South Africa among them.
In relation to the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s $100 million deal with Netflix, Meghan’s role is significant. Moreover, it is anticipated that their upcoming show will see high viewership within the next few weeks.
In their ongoing partnership with the streaming service, the newest series marks the third joint production by the Duke and Duchess. Regrettably, their earlier ventures, “Heart of Invictus” and “Polo,” didn’t resonate strongly with viewers.
In the realm of digital entertainment, I recently introduced two new series – Polo and Heart of Invictus – towards the end of last year. Unfortunately, the response to Polo was not as robust as anticipated, with a modest 2,964 views recorded. As for Heart of Invictus, while it did manage to garner some interest, it fell short of the 100,000 view mark, according to the data we’ve gathered. These numbers serve as valuable insights for future content creation and audience engagement strategies.
With Love, Meghan is available to stream on Netflix.
