Meghan Markle’s Estranged Half-Brother Calls Out Her Netflix Show; Claims Childhood Stories Are ‘Fabricated’

Thomas Markle Jr., Meghan Markle’s half-brother who is not close to her, has criticized her latest Netflix series, “With Love, Meghan,” stating that he finds it uninteresting and lacking in originality.

On TalkTV in the UK, Thomas took issue with Meghan’s portrayal of her childhood narratives, labeling them as ‘exaggerated’. He stated that her recollections of frequently watching cooking shows and cooking herself as a child were not an accurate representation of her upbringing.

He acknowledged that his mother, Doria Ragland, was an excellent chef. However, he mentioned that Megan had never cooked anything for anyone during her upbringing.

In simpler terms, Meghan Markle’s new project is all set to highlight her distinctive hosting abilities, particularly in areas like gardening and cooking, among others. This series, consisting of eight episodes, made its debut on Netflix on March 4th, 2025.

Meghan had mentioned that her childhood meals were mostly fast food. But Thomas disputed this statement, stating that she was neither economically disadvantaged nor deprived.

In my expert opinion, I must clarify a common misconception about their childhood. It wasn’t marked by hardship or frugality; instead, it was characterized by comfort. To illustrate, let me share an important detail: She didn’t stretch her budget at the Sizzler salad bar with mere nickels. Instead, she had the privilege of dining at esteemed Hollywood restaurants.

Thomas playfully suggested that he and Samantha Markle adopt the last name “Sussex” to match Meghan, as a humorous nod to Markle previously correcting Mindy Kaling’s use of her maiden name during their show appearance.

“It’s so funny you keep saying, Markle. You know it’s Sussex now,” Meghan told Kaling.

Since you have children, you often go places together. We even have the same name. I hadn’t realized how significant that connection would feel for me, but it carries such weight; it represents our family name. Now our small family unit is complete,” she expressed.

As a long-time critic of my sister-in-law, Meghan Markle, I found myself in an unexpected role this time – that of caretaker for my father. His heart health is precarious, and so, before he could watch the show, I had to ensure his medication was up-to-date.

With Love, Meghan is now available on Netflix.
