Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were seen together in public for the first time this year at the Sundance Film Festival on Saturday, January 24th.
The couple celebrated the world premiere of their new documentary, Cookie Queens, as part of the festival’s family-friendly showings. They took pictures with Amy Redford, the daughter of festival founder Robert Redford, and the film’s director, Alysa Nahmias.
The documentary Cookie Queens, created by Archewell Productions, showcases four young Girl Scouts navigating the high-stakes world of cookie selling. The film emphasizes the importance of teamwork, drive, and determination in an industry that generates $800 million in revenue. Sundance programmer Stephanie Owens believes these girls have bright futures, saying they could become future leaders like Supreme Court justices or CEOs.

Meghan Markle has a personal connection to this project, as she was a Girl Scout growing up in California. Her mother, Doria Ragland, led her troop and encouraged Meghan’s early passion for starting businesses. Meghan highlighted this connection in April 2025 by sharing childhood photos on Instagram with the message that entrepreneurial spirit can begin at a young age.

Prince Harry was seen at Sundance Film Festival soon after returning from London, where he finished testifying in his legal battle with Associated Newspapers Limited. Harry, along with other plaintiffs like Elton John and Elizabeth Hurley, claims the publisher illegally obtained their private information.
During the January 21st hearing, Harry openly discussed the effect these events have had on his family. He explained, with visible emotion, that speaking out has led to continued negative consequences for him and has caused significant distress for his wife. The publisher involved has refuted the claims made.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are making changes to their team as they continue to manage legal issues and plan for the future. They’ve brought back PR firm Sunshine Sachs Morgan & Lylis to help with Meghan’s lifestyle brand, As Ever, and other projects in the United States. This move followed the departure of their communications officer, Meredith Maines, at the end of 2025.
Meghan is currently building her brand and continuing her podcast, Confessions of a Female Founder. While her Netflix series, With Love, Meghan, won’t be returning for another season, she’s looking into other reality TV projects. Prince Harry is still dedicated to supporting veterans through the Invictus Games, and the next competition is scheduled for early 2027.
The documentary Cookie Queens, first revealed in December 2025, premiered at Sundance Film Festival as part of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s shift towards creating content for families. The film will be shown several times during the festival, which ends on February 1st. Through their production company, Archewell Productions, the couple is prioritizing stories that highlight women’s strength and advocate for social change.
