Megan Thee Stallion Goes Cosmic for Halloween as Starfire of the Teen Titans

As a lifelong comic book enthusiast who grew up watching both the Teen Titans animated series and poring over the pages of DC Comics, I must say that Megan Thee Stallion‘s Halloween costume as Starfire this year has left me absolutely spellbound! Her transformation into the legendary alien princess of Tamaran is nothing short of extraordinary.

Megan Thee Stallion isn’t just a musical icon and a fierce performer, she also slays the house down every Halloween. Over the years she’s dressed up as characters from My Hero Academia, and even as one of the Gremlins. And this year is no different when it comes to Megan going nerdy for spooky season. For Halloween 2024, Megan released images of herself dressed as Starfire, the legendary Teen Titan from DC Comics. For those who remember the animated “Teen Titans” or “Teen Titans Go!”, you might find the characters in these photos less familiar. We understand if you do, as the cartoon versions of Princess Koriand’r from Tamaran are often depicted differently. They tend to appear much younger and less glamorized compared to her original DC Comics version, Starfire. As designed by the late, talented comic book artist George Perez in 1980 for “The New Teen Titans,” his Kory had massive curly hair that would turn into fire when she flew. Additionally, Starfire’s initial design featured more exposed skin.

For a while now, it seemed like Megan was primarily associated with Marvel due to her role in She-Hulk. However, it turns out that she shares a fondness for classic comic book costumes at Halloween, just like many celebrities do. Remember when Keke Palmer transformed into the X-Men’s Rogue? Well, Megan has now taken on the role of Starfire from DC’s competition to the X-Men, the Teen Titans. In the coming future, DC Studios plans to release a Teen Titans movie. If cast as Starfire by James Gunn, Megan Thee Stallion would undoubtedly make an excellent choice for the team’s fiery alien warrior princess. Any actor chosen to play Nightwing in that scenario would indeed be fortunate.
