It’s tough when you don’t get along with your boss, and Megan Fox learned that comparing them to a dictator can quickly cost you your job. In 2009, at the height of her career while preparing for the third Transformers film, Dark of the Moon, Fox gave an interview about working with director Michael Bay that dramatically altered her career path. She described Bay’s demanding behavior on set, and her comments were blunt. She famously said he wanted to be known as a ruthless leader, comparing him to Hitler. The production team reacted swiftly, removing Fox from the franchise and replacing her with Rosie Huntington-Whiteley.
The actress later told Cosmopolitan that the experience, though difficult, taught her a lot when she was younger. She described it as the worst moment of her career, but also said it helped her grow quickly. She admitted that at 23, she was too proud to apologize, even feeling like she was making a heroic stand. “I really thought I was Joan of Arc,” she joked.
Okay, so even though she didn’t get the huge win with that blockbuster everyone was talking about, Megan Fox really carved out her own path. That same year, she took a chance on Jennifer’s Body, which was written by Diablo Cody. Honestly, it didn’t get a lot of love when it first came out, but it’s had this amazing resurgence! Now, people see it as this really smart, feminist cult classic, and everyone’s raving about her performance and how relevant the movie still is.
After trying out different kinds of roles and taking a break from big franchises, the actress gained renewed attention in 2014 when she played April O’Neil in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Since then, she’s continued to work on a variety of projects, including the 2024 thriller Subservience. Her most recent role was voicing the character Toy Chica in the 2025 horror sequel Five Nights at Freddy’s 2, which particularly excited fans of the series.
Megan Fox has been in the spotlight recently because of her on-again, off-again relationship with Machine Gun Kelly. After taking a break from social media, she returned in March with posts that seemed to playfully engage Kelly. The two are still committed to co-parenting their daughter, Saga Blade, born in March 2025, and appear to be doing well together. Aside from her voice acting work, Fox has expressed a desire to play Poison Ivy in the new DC Universe, and fans are enthusiastically supporting the idea. With her career gaining momentum and a focus on projects she’s passionate about, Megan Fox continues to be a compelling presence in Hollywood.
